CRYOGENIC VALVE BOX

• Space available blue support is shortened at red line, and CRYOGENIC VALVE BOX and BOITIER/COFFRET ELECTROVANNE have to be moved

• Afterwards there is enough clearance to install the ALFA station safely in the new location, as the photo of the ALFA 2D envelope shows

Work Summary

7

• No support pieces for DQRs to be manufactured• New pieces of beam pipe are not needed• Cabling work for DQRs not needed• In sector 12:• Only the straight pipes between DQR.C7R1 and DQR.B7R1 have to

be removed and DQR.C7R1 moved by 30 cm towards DQR.B7R1• Intervention can be carried out in two days during DQR upgrade

• In sector 81:• Work is needed at DFBA electronics. A. Perin (TE-CRG), estimates a

cost of 20 kCHF and a work duration of two weeks to cut the support, install a new support, produce new cables and move the two boxes

• DQRB has to be put on top of DQR.C7L1 (like it already was done in sector 12)
