assignment: Design a graphic, minimalist movie poster using a texture.

homework: 1. Select a movie to design a poster for. You will be creating a graphic interpretation for that poster. Sketch at least

8 poster compositions. Be sure to include the movie title and 2 other pieces of information. (ie. quote, cast)

2. Look in your surroundings to find a texture or create your own texture that you can use in your movie poster.

Find inspiration for the title of your movie poster.

restrictions:

• Do not copy the title typeface/style that already exists for your selected movie.

process:1. Choose the strongest sketch to design on the computer.

2. Create a 10"x 16" document in Illustrator.

3. Use the pen tool and a variety of other tools to create your sketch in Illustrator.

4. Apply type to your design. Remember to establish heirarchy with the movie title.

5. Add texture to your movie poster. You can find some here:

6. Save your file as a pdf. file>save as Select adobe pdf (print) from the drop down.

7. Email or deliver this file to a local printer to have it printed on 11" x 17" paper.
