    Student Council SY 2012-2013

    Guidelines for Mr. and Ms. CAS 2013

    1. The candidates should be a bona fide student/faculty of the University of the PhilippinesVisayas.

    2. There should be one pair of male and female candidates coming from the followingacademic organization/category:

    a. Cloversb. Redboltsc. Skimmersd. Elektronse. Ugyon (CAS-based)

    3. The contest will be divided in the following categories:a. Production Number 10%b. Acad Org Wear 10%c. Advocacy 20%d. Advocacy Wear 10%e. Talent 15%f. Formal Wear 10%g. Interview Portion - 20%h. Photo shoot/ Peoples Choice 5%

    4. The candidates will be judged as pair during the advocacy presentation and the talentportion, the rest they will be judged individually.

    5. During the talent portion, the candidates will perform as a pair for 2-3 minutes of theirchosen talent. One (1) to three (3) number of props is allowed. There shall be no presence

    of fire, weapons or any dangerous and/or deadly materials on stage to ensure the safety

    of the candidates and the audience.

    6. The candidates should come from the freshmen, sophomores or juniors only. Graduatingstudents are not allowed to join since he/she cannot fulfil his/her duties next school year.

    This rule, however, does not apply to the faculty and staff candidates.

    Furthermore, the duties and responsibilities of the crowned Mr. and Ms. CAS 2013 will be

    determined by the next batch of CASSC. The pageant serves as an initiative and

    recommendation of the incumbent CASSC (SY 2012-2013). The advocacies carried out

    during the pageant serves as a recommendation to the next CASSC (SY 2013-2014) to

    be carried out by the crowned Mr. and Ms. CAS 2013.

    7. The candidates should attend all meetings and rehearsals set by the organizers.

    8.

    The following are the different advocacies to be imbibed by the respective candidates.Among this list of advocacies, the candidates (or any representative) shall pick one on

    the date set by the organizers, which will then be represented by the candidates on the

    pageant night.

    a. Environmentb. Healthc. Politics/ Governanced. Business/ Entrepreneurshipe.

    f. Culture and Arts9. The candidates should pass a 2 minute advocacy video, edited and saved on a flash

    drive on or before February 15, 2012, at exactly 12 noon. Failure to pass will deficit the

    candidates 30% of the total score.

    10. The candidates should arrive at least two (2) hours early during the pageant night,February 15, 2012.

    11. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
