road race. The event was instituted in

commemoration of the fabled run of the Greek

soldier Pheidippides, a messenger from the

Battle of Marathon, to Athens. It was one of

the original modern Olympic events in 1896.

In order to test stamina, physical strength and

Christmas is a festival of fun, merry, charity,

giving and blessing. It celebrates the birth of

Jesus Christ who is the son of god. He is the

harbinger of peace and harmony in the world. To

inculcate the sense of charity and empathy among

students, T.C.D.A.V. Celebrated Christmas with a

festive spirit on 24th December in the school

premises. The celebration started with an

apprising presentation on Christmas and the life

history of Jesus Christ by Tagore house students

‘Arpit Varshney’ and ‘Arpit Gupta’ (to be

confirmed from Nidhi Rathore.) The presentation

also threw light on the importance of the festival.

On this occasion the Christmas tree was also

adorned in a wonderful way. Thereafter our

students sang the famous song ‘Jingle Bells’ in

their melodious voice. In between the song the

sight of their favorite Santa enthralled the

students with a pleasant surprise. Our tiny tots

also participated actively by making ‘Santa Masks’

and ‘Santa caps’. At the end cake was distributed

to the children by their lovable Santa.
