How to Annotate Documents In American History Class

1. Create a Google Account2. Open Google Drive3. Create Folder and Label as LasName.FirstInitial American History

Option 1 to Upload Files to Google Drive Folder

5. Open the Classroom Materials for the decade you would like on the Decade Resources weebly page.

6. Once in the Classroom Materials page, open Dropbox Files for that unit.

7. Download all documents as Zip file.

8. Once downloaded, transfer the downloaded zip file into your Google Drive American History folder. Right click on zip folder, open with zip extractor

9. Authorize Zip Extractor to extract files.

10. Click on Extract not.

11. Your Google Drive folder should now have the Unzipped files. You can now delete the original zip file.

Option 2 to Upload Files to Google Drive Folder

12. Create a Folder within the American History 2016/17 folder fro each decade that we study. The first one will be labeled Pre-1900

Opening File in Kami

14. Add Kami to your Google Drive. Right click on the document. Scroll over “Open With” then click on “Connect More Apps”.

15. Search for Kami and click Connect.

16. Go back to the history document, right click on the document, scroll over “Open With” and click on Kami. From there you will be able to annotate the

document.

17. When complete you will save the document by downloading the document back into the Google Drive folder.

18. Make sure to select the correct folder to place back in.

19. Then click begin export.

20. You will notice that once you are back in the Google Drive folder that there will be two documents. Keep the exported document that you annotated. The original document will no longer be needed in the folder.
