It is effective in precipitating metal ions to low concentrations in wastewater. A typical application for this product is as a polishing step following conventional metal precipitation proc- esses, such as hydroxide precipitation. It can be considered as an alternative to conventional tech- niques for precipitation of higher levels of metal ions. Treatment and Feeding Requirements MetClear MR2405 can be added during the normal treatment process. It is miscible with water in all dilutions; therefore, it may be diluted to any ratio desired to meet chemical feed pump capacity. Dilu- tion water should be good quality with a pH near neutral. The product can be applied neat to an area of high turbulence, such as the suction side of a pump. In practice, after the addition of MetClear to a batch solution or continuous stream, the treated water should be agitated to allow for reaction before the metal precipitate settles. Polypropylene, stainless steel (304 or 316), or high density cross-linked polyethylene (HDCLPE) may be used for tank storage. Materials recommended for tubing and fittings are rigid PVC, stainless steel, HDCLPE, polypropylene, Viton, Buna N, and Tygo. (Viton is a registered trademark of Dupont. Tygon is a registered trademark of Norton Co.) Avoid the use of low carbon steel, brass, zinc, and other metals in piping and storage tank construction. MetClear* MR2405 Metals Precipitating Agent • Completely water soluble • Precipitates metals over a wide pH range • Enables wastewater recycling for plant proc-

esses • Can be applied during normal treatment proc-

ess or as a polishing agent for wastewater treatment

• Effective for various metals, including cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, silver, selenium, and zinc

Description and Use MetClear MR2405 is a patented, liquid precipitating agent for metals. It is effective in precipitating metal ions to low concentrations in wastewater. A typical application for this product is as a polishing step following conventional metal precipitation proc-esses, such as hydroxide precipitation. It can be considered as an alternative to conventional tech-niques for precipitation of higher levels of metal ions.

Treatment and Feeding Requirements MetClear MR2405 can be added during the normal treatment process. It is miscible with water in all dilutions; therefore, it may be diluted to any ratio desired to meet chemical feed pump capacity. Dilu-tion water should be good quality with a pH near neutral.

General Properties Physical properties of MetClear MR2405 are listed on the Material Safety Data Sheet, a copy of which is available on request.

Packaging Information MetClear MR2405 is a liquid product, available in a variety of containers. Consult your GE Infrastructure Water & Process Technologies representative for packaging options.

Storage and Handling MetClear MR2405 should be stored in a cool, dry environment. Keep container closed when not in use. Protect from freezing. If frozen, thaw and mix thoroughly prior to use. To ensure maximum activ-ity, this product should be used within six (6) months.
