Homework Expectations Homework is assigned Monday – Thursday
Homework includes: Math, Reading, spelling practice, Preparing for quizzes in all areas.
Math Homework 30 Minute Rule--parent signature
required
Spelling and Vocabulary: • 5 words a week (lists on website) –- written in
word book • Assigned spelling menu item twice a week• Find/Use at least 3 words in home environment. • Words in connection with curriculum, grouped
with word cell studies
• No spelling on short weeks or when we have content tests.
• Assignments are due the following day unless noted on agenda.

Homework Reading Expectations

• Students need to read 4 nights for 20 minutes or more.
• This can be flexed throughout the week.
• This will include assigned reading and/or free choice reading.
• Some reading assignments will be completed on line with questions.
• I do not require parent signature or recording.
Homework Expectations Students with missing assignments including
class assignments will report to study hall on Friday.
After 2 late assignments in 1 quarter the students grade for completing homework will be dropped to developing.
Character and effort are as important as intelligence for success in life! Successful students persist in the face of difficulty. (Some work needs to be difficult)…
Teachers should try to foster self-control and “grit.”

Science labs and exit tickets are difficult to make-up. Often the student will be exempt.
