Office Hours –2nd, 6th and 8th periods and after school all days but Thursday & Friday.
You will learn to understand basic economic principles related to consumers and producers in domestic and global markets. You will master knowledge and skills to be competent decision makers, productive members of the workforce, informed consumers, prudent savers and investors, responsible citizens and participants in a global economy.
Identify Opportunity cost and trade offs involved in making choices about how to use scarce economic resources
Use rational decision making process as it applies to citizens, workers and consumers
Explain the importance of Productivity, specialization of labor, saving, investment in capital good and resources and technological change to affect productivity
Identify the basic features of different economic systems and discuss the major features of the U.S. economy
Explain the role of exchange and money in an economic system and describe the effect of interdependence on the economic activity
Describe the role of competitive markets and the law of supply and demand and their affect on prices in the U.S. Economy
Develop a financial plan to manage limited personal financial resources and make wise consumer decisions.
Describe economic activity such as Gross Domestic Product, unemployment and inflation
Discuss the role of government in an economic system, especially the necessary and desirable role of government in the U.S. Economy.
Describe rights and responsible of citizens in the U.S. Economy, including their role in making decisions through the political process that affect the allocation of limited personal and public resources to meet individual and societal needs and wants.
Examine the importance of economic relationships among nations and discuss the rile of international trade monetary relations in the global economy.

Budgeting and Insurance Savings and Investing Banking and the Federal Reserve Credit Taxes International Monetary Relations Supply and Demand
Paper Pen or pencil Economics Book Folder (one will be provided in class ) or notebook
Student ID (Never leave home without it!)
Homework (as needed)

Come prepared to class no passes will be given to retrieve items
No Cell phones – LNS policy
No Headphones, iPod’s or other things that annoy me
No food or drinks this includes candy and gum
When myself or others are talking you need to remain quiet.
Pick up all of your things and items used for class before you leave
Follow class procedures and expectations
You are responsible to get the work that you missed All handouts will be placed in the folder by day for you to get when you return.
You have 2 days to get work caught up for everyday you miss
You may not use class time to make up work or tests
Failure to have work completed will result in mandatory study hall after school
Students are expected to attend class regularly and arrive on time. Good attendance is an important part in achieving success in this class. Unexcused absences will result in actions outlined by the North Star Attendance policy. All work from absences must be made up in order to receive credit. Bell Ringers will be given daily and will have to be made up to get credit.
Poor attendance in Economics will lead to failing the course which is a graduation requirement.

Your grade will be based on homework, class work, quizzes, tests, activities and a comprehensive final.
Attitude and Participation will also be considered as part of grade when rounding.
You will bring a pen or pencil and paper to class daily
You will have daily bell ringer activities to complete when you arrive and will have about 5 minutes to complete it
You will be in your seat when the bell rings
You will have assigned work completed and ready to pick up when you arrive
You will not be given passes out of class to get items you needed for class.
You must have your ID and around your neck!
