Sarah is the granddaughter of Beu- lah Waddell Lundquist, formerly of Rock Island. Sarah is a 12 year old and this is her second year of entering this contest. Mr. amd Mrs. Charlie Morton Guthmann and Morton Recite Vows in June Ceremony Amanda Rae Guthman of Lissie and Charlie Allen Morton of Louise were united in marriage at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2005, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Rev. Don Ruppert officiating over the double-ring ceremony. Amanda is the daughter of Tommy and Gail Guthman of Lissie and the granddaughter of Lee Roy Guthman of Lissie and the late Inez Guthman and late Bennie and Elsie Matcek of Ganado. Charlie is the son of Clyde and Dorothy Morton of Louise and the grandson of Vallie Mae Hrachovy of Cameron and the late Charlie Hrachovy and the late Jessie and Lena Morton of Louise. Escorted to the altar by her father, Tommy Guthman, Amanda chose a gown of white Italian matte satin and soft tulle all enhanced with beadwork of pearls, bugle beads, and mercury beads. The strapless bodice features a straight-across neckline and a dropped waistline. The entire bodice is en- crusted with the beadwork in a floral design. The full A-line skirt is of tulle, sparkled near the hem with beaded appliques of beaded Schiffli lace. The hemline is finished with satin piping, flowing around into a lovely semi-ca- thedral train. Amanda's headpiece was a crystal beaded tiara and featured a fingertip length veil of illusion fashioned of layered tulle finished with white satin piping designed and fashioned by her mother, Gail Guthman. A matching necklace and earrings complemented her attire. She carried a cascading style bouquet of red roses, bear grass, and white larkspur that was hand-tied with double-faced white satin ribbon. Also in the bouquet was a rosary, a special gift from her mother. Attending as maid of honor was Lindsey Guthman of Houston, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Stephanie Guthman of Lissie, sister- in-law of the bride; Michele Bucek of League City, friend of the bride; Stacy Morton of Louise, sister of the groom. The attendants were gowned alike in a two-piece strapless black floor-length satin gown. Each carried a bouquet of red roses hand tied with black satin ribbon. Flower girls were Kirbi Guthman of Lissie and Kaitlyn Morton of Edna, cousins of the couple. Ring bearers were Tanner and Dal- ton Schmidt of Lissie and Gage Rubesh of Louise, nephew of the groom. David Jr., weighed seven pounds, and measured 18 inches in length a birth. He was welcomed home by a sister, Daviana Elizabeth Renee Henderson, age four. Maternal grandparents are Juvenal and Cynthia Sanchez of Eagle Lake. Paternal grandparents are Katherine Henderson of Altair and the late Larry Henderson Sr. Great-grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Norman Henderson of Altair and Guadalupe Gonzales of Eagle Lake and the late Alfredo Gonzales. Tiffany Knight is crowned Miss Woodlands 2005. Knight Wins Pageant at The Woodlands Local girl, Tiffany Leigh Knight, daughter of Liz and David Knight of Wallis, won the Miss Woodlands 2005 Scholarship Pageant. Jan. 15 marked a turning point in Tiffany's life. She has won a coveted preliminary spot in the Miss Texas 2005 Scholar- ship Pageant...an official preliminary to Miss America. Tiffany participated in personal interview with topics that included her community service program, "Save a Heart, Save a Life...Learn CPR" and her education. She won the talent portion of the competition with an electrifying baton twirling performance that was honored with a standing ovation. She also competed in Lifestyle and Fitness, Evening Wear and On-Stage question. Tiffany will be making appearances around the state sharing with young- sters and adults alike the value in learn- ing CPR to save the life of loved one, family member or stranger. Look for her appearances in your local area. The Miss America Program is the largest scholarship organization for women in the world. In 2004,45 mil- lion dollars was awarded to more than 12,000 young women on a local, state and national level. Mr, and Mrs. Lester Schindler Schindler's Celebrate Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schindler of Bernardo were pleasantly surprised on their 60 ,h wedding anniversary on the evening of May 27 by their children, Bobby Jean Shockley and husband, Robert and Douglas Wayne Schindler at Nancy's Steak House in Columbus. Also present were Barbara Sav- age of Houston, Margie Sodolak and George Sebesta of Bernardo. After a steak dinner, two anniver- sary cakes were served. One was a chocolate cake decorated in green and yellow with the inscription: Happy 60 th Anniversary. The other was a va- nilla cream cake topped with whipped cream with pink whipped cream roses and inscribed: Happy Anniversary May 27,1945-2005. Mrs. Schindler received a corsage of white rose buds and Mr. Schindler a white rose bud boutonniere. Lester E. Schindler, son of the late Emil and Elenora Bosse Schindler of Eagle Lake, married Mary Ruth Sens of Bernardo, daughter of the late Ar- nold and Minnie Lee Liermann Sens of Sealy in the rectory of St. Roch's Catholic Church in Mentz by Andrew Didner (now deceased) on May 27, 1945. They have lived in Bernardo the last 58-1/2 years, moving there shortly after Mr. Schindlers discharge from the Army Air Force following World WarH. The Schindlers have two grand- children, Travis Wayne Schindler and wife, Veronica of San Antonio and Lesley Ann McFarland and husband, Keith of Ft. The public hearing will be held on July 12th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Colorado County Central Appraisal District Board Room at 106 Cardinal Lane, Columbus, Texas. A summary of the appraisal district budget follows: The total amount of the proposed budget is $623,465. The amount of decrease from the current year's budget is $16,773. The number of employees compensated under the proposed budget will be 8 employees. The appraisal district is supported solely by payments from the local units served by the appraisal district. If approved by the appraisal district board of directors at the public hearing, this proposed budget will take effect automatically unless disapproved by the governing bodies of the county, school districts, cities and towns served by the appraisal district. Smith Wins Entertainer Of The Year Award

Schindler's Celebrate Sixtieth Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schindler of Bernardo were pleasantly surprised on their 60,h wedding anniversary on the evening of May 27 by their children, Bobby Jean Shockley and husband, Robert and Douglas Wayne Schindler at Nancy's Steak House in Columbus.
