Home School Learning Pack for Week Beginning 06.07.20
Dear Purple Class,
Hello!
I hope that you are well and happy! Even though we’re not all together, It is important you realise what a fantastic a job you are doing,
staying at home, keeping safe and getting on with your learning. Remember to follow the pack and keep reading instructions carefully, so that
you know what to do and where to find everything you need.
I have been keeping busy planning lots of lovely activities for you. I hope you are enjoying the
lovely Art activities – I know Art is a big favourite for most of you!
I really miss seeing you each day and hope that you are keeping busy and active. Don’t forget to
do some exercise every day – you can exercise any way you like but it is important to get your
heart rate pumping and to feel a little out of breath.
I would love to be seeing you all again this week but instead, here are some more activities to
keep you busy! We hope that you enjoy doing them.

Monday
Maths warm up: https://mathsbot.com/starter Complete the Statistics Averages and Range problems. This week’s Maths will be on STATISTICS. Read the instructions and have a go at answering the questions and completing the tasks below. English: This week’s English will be based, once again, on the Hamilton Trust English Units, saved onto our class page, on the school website. Lesson One: Access the Power Point and you will hear teaching on Modal Verbs as a voice-over. Then, listen to a reading of Eric by Shaun Tan. Next, you’ll practise finding and using modal verbs and practise reading the story.

English: Lesson Two: First, watch a video version of Eric. Then, you’ll find and sort modal verbs into categories. Finally, you need to write your own answers to questions about the story, using modal verbs.
Wednesday

Then you’ll be able to Children look carefully at illustrations from Eric and answer reflective questions using modal verbs. Finally, you’ll make an illustration about the next events after the story and write sentences with modal verbs.

Children’s Art Weeks In 2020, Children’s Art Week will take place online, at home and in schools across three weeks in June and July. Each week
will focus on a special theme.

PSHE All families have been emailed some PSHE activities for you to share and complete at home this week.
Reading Challenge: Keep reading for 30 minutes every day. As it is an Arts Week, centered around the theme of connecting across generations, try challenging yourself and reading about an artist from the past. Why not read the fact sheet, below, about Pablo Picasso, then try to create a beautiful double- page spread, using the information you have found.
