Newsletter 10.28.2013
Mrs. Mary Avila (PTO Board Co-President), Mrs. Ileana Gutierrez (Board Treasurer) and Ms. Ruth Bala
(Co-Director of Fundraising)
From Mary Avila: Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed our Annual Fiesta. And a VERY SPECIAL
THANK YOU to all of the volunteers - grandparents, parents, students of HFGS and everyone else who donated
their time, muscle, and artistic ability to help set up, work during the event, or clean up.
For our team who set up, executed and took it all down, you all did a heroic job in ensuring everything was perfect
and put together, to set up and execute such a fabulous event. It seemed effortless in its fruition. I think that is the
hallmark of a perfect party.
To those volunteers who stayed passed any sign time, cooked until past 2 am, donated, and then donated again,
served, counted tickets, cleaned and stayed to the bitter end and then showed up early the next morning to clean
up…my thanks from the bottom of my heart. You are the reason we take this on for so many years. Without all of
you, this would never be possible.
2
To our Faculty and Staff, for preparing a great show, for donating your time and sharing the day with all of us. A
very special thank you to Miss Suelto for standing at the helm and supporting us every step of the way.
Finally, I want to publicly thank my husband for sweetly enduring all the Fiesta planning, for donating your time
and muscle to ensure we are all safe, for taking the endless phone calls from volunteers at all hours of the day and
night and for smiling and calming dealing with all the problems and issues without a complaint…you are amazing.
Bulldogs: Here’s to another successful Fiesta!
********************************************************************************************
From Steve Benedict: It is nice to hear the sincere words from everyone at Holy Family and our guests,
regarding the dedicated hard work and effort by all… Super Job!
Sometimes, when you are sitting in the "Birds Nest" as I was, you see a whole new perspective on the day,
the event, the people, and the ambiance as it unfolded. Smiles everywhere! Great entertainment! People
were courteous, well mannered, clean, and cooperative. It was a beautiful day, and from my standpoint a
huge success. It was managed well, we saved money on costs, and some of the new things we tried were
trend-setting. Our net profits will be the fruit of our efforts.
Thank you all for your undying support of our children.
Now, let's be pro-active and start early this summer to raise the bar for next year's Fiesta.
********************************************************************************************
From Your Principal:
Dear ALL,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of you for your hard work and dedication to make this
Fiesta a success.
Each one of you played a significant role to make us feel and see a great celebration in a wonderful
community such as Holy Family!
Food, games, contests, songs, dances, band, prizes, and much more were enjoyed by everyone, especially
the children. There was so much spirit of camaraderie and volunteerism. Love, loyalty, laughter and
excitement were indeed witnessed and felt across our school yard and campus.
I wish to express my warm thanks to all our parents, PTO Board, CSB Board, Faculty and Staff, current
students and alumni, our priests – Fr. Jim, Fr. Mike, Fr. Marcial, Fr. Martin, Fr. Patrick, Student Council,
Kiwanis Club, HFCC parishioners, High School friends, great sponsors, and guests of HFGS!
Thank you so much for your huge involvement and wonderful support of the grade school.
The next few pages will show you a glimpse of the fun we had together as a school community.
