Rooted in organization sociology and psychology To develop skills of critical analysis and understanding

rather than to learn specific tools and techniques. Closely related to the research program of the

department-> relational perspective/Triple I Self-activation & Self-assessment. Few final written exams, mainly reports, presentations,

2. Master Thesis

• Master thesis Organization Studies (24 ECTS):

Semester 2. Competence test to show one can perform

scientific research independently and has profound knowledge of topic, and able to interpret and communicate research results.

Approach:• Research topic within the framework of the

research program of the department.• Thesis circles of up to 8 students supervised

by staff member.• Thesis has to be written in English

How to get out?

• Completion of all the course work• Completion of the Master’s thesis by the end of June• Defense of the Master’s thesis in June

• Graduation in a collective ceremony and within the Master circle (with guests) at the end of September

Variant 1: Extended Master’s Consultancy

15

• Extended Master integrates a junior traineeship of 1 year with an organization with the Master’s thesis trajectory and thus extends the Master OS to 1,5 years

• Junior traineeship (second and third semester): 50% working time with organizations plus additional assignments and workshops

• Students will receive salary by organization of at least 425 Euro

• In principle open to all students admitted to the Master OS. However, students have to apply and be accepted by the Department of Organization Studies and the partner organization in the spring of 2014.

• Mastering English as a foreign language (oral and writing skills)
