Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have always been the dark horse in the
economic development of Indonesia. Its large contribution to Gross Domestic Product
(GDP), employment, and the strength in its number are the main reasons why MSMEs have
always been the main interest of the government and other stakeholders. In order to realize
Bank Indonesia's goals, namely to achieve and maintain rupiah stability, Bank Indonesia is
and will always be committed to supporting the development of MSMEs.
During this pandemic, MSMEs are facing various challenges such as falling domestic and
export demand, distribution difficulties, limited raw materials, and access to financing.
However, technological advances are provided to be the silver lining for MSMEs to continue
its existence, namely through numerous virtual activities and digital media. To promote
further the export-scale of MSME products, the Bank Indonesia Representative Office for
Central Java Province is holding the second UMKM Gayeng Exhibition. This time the
exhibition will be held virtually through the www.gayengexpo.id platform.
UMKM Gayeng 2020 will present 102 MSMEs from all regions of Central Java who have
gone through the curation process. There are 850 MSMEs that were keen in participating in
the curation process, and the chosen MSMEs are those that have met export qualifications
or potentials. The products categories consist of fashion and textile, craft, furniture, agro
products, and also food and drink products.
Lastly, we hope that Central Java MSME's Premium Product Catalogue Book 2020 will
become a media that can introduce potential MSMEs in Central Java to stakeholders and
potential buyers with the aim that it can open the widest door for increasing the domestic
and international market access.
