I hold a master3s degree in orensic science rom 4indal 5lobal6niversity. I have worked as a crime scene investigator or the last7 months with the  456 !SI unit, Sonipat. I have been ully trainedand assessed as competent in the collection, examination andpackaging o scientifc evidence, as described in this case.

!ircumstances of !ase% 8n ##97901#2, the victim had returnedrom work quite late, approximately around 7.11 am in the morning.

When she arrived at her address, !+: 70, ;ear <am /andir, Sector##, Sonipat, (aryana, she walked up the stairs to her door on thethird =oor o the building.

 *he light in the landing was not switched on and thus visibility

was poor. She had barely turned the key when a strange man >umped out o the darkness behind her and threatened herwith a knie.

She dropped her fle and bag in shock. 'eore she could

recover, she elt assailant bring his arm around her and place apiece o cloth on her mouth. *he assailant kicked the dooropen, pushed her in and kicked the door shut behind them.

(e brought the knie to her neck and threatened to shoot her i 

she didn3t oblige. (e then threw her down on the ground. Shemight have hit the edge o the kitchen table on her way down.

(e then stripped her clothes and proceeded to rape her

vaginally, while abusing her verbally using uncouth wordsduring the act. *he assailant turned the victim around so as toace him.

 

When assailant was done, he held her hair and banged her

in>ured head hard against the =oor. (e then let& threateningher not to ollow him otherwise he would kill her.

She recovered ater a while ?period o time passed unknown@

and called the emergency number #11 rom her mobile phonewhich was in her trouser pocket and called or help.

I have based my approach to the collection and examination o theevidence in this case on the inormation provided. I any elements o this inormation are incorrect, or i urther relevant inormationcomes to light, then urther investigation o the crime scene mightneed to be conducted in advance o a trial, i possible and permittedby the required authorities.
