Mestizo will be holding our third ‘Festival del Mole’, featuring a

special menu of 12 ‘MOLE’ (moh-lay) sauces and authentic recipes from Mexico. These sauces may

contain up to 40+ ingredients, and each estado (state) in Mexico will

have their own regional specialities.

This time also coincides with the ‘DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS’ (Day of the Dead, Halloween, All Saints Day) celebrations and Mestizo will be

having a special altar commissioned and displayed in the restaurant, to welcome back our ‘dear departed’…

as well as a selection of seasonal specialities.

Traditional celebrationCelebremos la vida / honremos a nuestros

muertos –Acompáñenos para la segunda edición del Altar a los Muertos en la

Hackney City Farm.México Lindo y Querido y Hackney City Farm se enorgullecen en presentar

esta celebración a la vida y la muerte. Honraremos a nuestros fieles difuntos con un altar tradicional. Invitamos a todos a traer una ofrenda

de su preferencia para recordar a quien ya estuvo en esta fiesta, mantener vivo su recuerdo y también la tradición. Flores, fruta, fotos, velas,

calaveras (poemas), canciones o anécdotas, todo es bienvenido y será devuelto al término.

Domingo 30 de Octubre: Este año tendremos de vuelta al grupo de medicina tradicional mexica Cen Jaotl con su ofrenda, propia de San PabloTecalco, municipio de Tecámac, Estado de México, consistente en un círculo de flores, fruta e incienso dispuestos de manera tradicional. A las dos de la tarde se presentará Xiquipiltzin con su danzas mexicas,

adornado con su espectacular vestimenta a la usanza prehispánica. Nuevamente de regreso, el grupo de herreros, haciendo

demostraciones de este arte milenario, transformando metal en calacas danzarinas, casi vivas. A las tres de la tarde el Latin American

Arts Project, vuelve con su popular taller de calaveras de azúcar y mazapán. No olviden participar en nuestro concurso de calaveras, pueden estar escritas en español o inglés, el ganador se dará a conocer el martes 1o. de Noviembre el cual regresará a casa con una

botella de Tequila Sauza Hacienda Premium como premio. Sin olvidar que tendremos los tradicionales panes de muerto, tamales y café de
