St Anne’s Catholic School Thursday, 12 November 2015 Dear Parents Our Year 5/6 classes are currently away on camp. We hope they have a fantas<c <me with ac<vi<es which include, high ropes, raA building, eeling, group challenges, just to name a few. Next Monday we welcome the Educa<on Review officers with a powhiri at 11.00am. Frank Hay and Therese Urlich will be with us for the week as part of our triennial review. Mu#i Day Friday, 20 November, is muAi day to raise funds for our world vision sponsored child. Please bring a gold coin dona<on to assist this cause. School hats Thank you to the parents who have checked their child’s hats. We s<ll have a few children who are wearing hats that they have wriSen on. A note will be sent home with these children asking that a new hat is purchased. We pride ourselves on our uniform and handwri<ng on hats does not show this pride. School sandals We have been informed that No1 Shoes can no longer source blue roman sandals. Girls may now wear black roman sandals. Reflec5on: Mark 13:2432 Nowhere is the changing world so evident as it is in children. How many <mes have you been around someone who hasn’t seen you or your child for some <me? They oAen remark, “Oh, my! How he’s grown!” And it’s true. He has grown. We see changes daily in their physical and emo<onal growth. Even children’s spiritual growth astounds us from <me to <me. Today’s Gospel makes clear that changes are coming—we just don’t know when. We’re not called to make ourselves paranoid about the signs of the changes, but rather to always be ready for Jesus’ return. In a few weeks, we will have a number of readings that challenge us to be ready. Now might be a good <me to make a commitment as a family to slow down the pace of this holiday season. Regards, Karl Zimmerman Mufti Next Friday Sports updates Wri@en By Shea Robinson, Head of sport 2015 The past couple of weeks have been busy with sport. Tough kids was on Friday at Cooks Gardens. We had over 100 students compe<ng, this meant great placings. Our best results were, 2nd in the Intermediates teams race, and we are the 2nd toughest school in Wanganui for the Intermediates. Well done to all students who competed. On Monday we luckily had great weather for Athle<cs. It was a very hot day and all students tried their best although most student were s<ll <red from tough kids. In the upcoming weeks we will have Contribu<ng Schools Athle<cs and Inter Schools Athle<cs. The Intermediates have been training hard for the final Super Six event, this event was touch but on early Wednesday morning was canceled due to the rain. We are currently placed second. We hope to have another date for this event and hopefully win the Super Six event.
