    (a)APROPHETMUSTBEBORNINTHEPROPHETICRACE

    Tobeginwith,aprophetmustbebornwithinthelineorraceoftheprophets.TheBiblespeaks

    specificallywhatthislineis.InGenesis12:1-3,weseethatthisreferstothefamilyofAbraham(seealso

    Galatians3:8),andthencarriesonthroughhissonIsaac(Genesis 17:2,7-8,15-21;21:10-12;22:2).TheQur'an,inSuraAl`Ankabut29:27,alsospeaksspecificallyofthispropheticline,saying:"andwe

    Hisworkonearth.EvenintheDeuteronomy18whereMosespromisesaprophetlikeuntohim,itsaysspecificallythattheprophetwouldcome"fromamongyourownbrothers,"anIsraeliteofthelineof

    (b)APROPHET'SMESSAGEMUSTCONFORMTOPREVIOUSREVELATION

    Athirdqualificationofaprophetconcernshismessage.Aprophet'smessage,inordertobecrediblemustconformtotherevelationwhichGodhadrevealedbefore.God'swordmustremain

    consistent,inotherwordsunchanging,otherwiseitbecomesuseless,atoolinthehandsofcorruptrulers

    TheunchangeabilityofGod'swordisoftenrepeatedinthescriptures.InDeuteronomy4:1-2;

    Isaiah8:20;Matthew5:17-18;24:35;andRevelation22:18-20wefindwarningsnottochangeordelete

    God'sWord.God'sWordmustremainconstant.InPsalms89:35wereadthatGodcannotcontradictHis

    TheQur'an,aswell,agreeswiththisdirectiveinSurasAlAn'am6:34andYunus10:64.InSura
