With this “Thank You” card, I used materials that aren’t normally used in paper crafting, but they add some nice depth and texture. By layering these items together, the result is a customized card with an added personal handmade touch to it.
MULTI-TEXTURE THANK YOU CARD
Liz Hicks
MATERIALS: Brother™ ScanNCut machine, white cardstock, wood veneer paper,
denim scraps, muslin, black permanent ink, letter stamps, buttons,
sewing machine with white thread (I used my Innov-ís 950D), and
adhesive, glue and glitter
Begin by gathering your materials and cut your cardstock to a 6" x 12"
rectangle. Fold it in half to create the base of your card.
Next, take the denim, starch it and iron it a few times so that it is stiff and easy
to cut through.
With your ScanNCut, you will cut the following shapes out of your materials:
• White cardstock: 5" square
• Wood veneer paper:
5 1/2" inch scalloped square
Tip: Use either the low-tack or standard mat for paper. For denim, use the standard mat prepped with the high tack adhesive fabric support sheet.
• Denim: Three 1 1/2" inch flowers
(built-in designs of ScanNCut).

step 7.
Next, begin by layering and adhering your different layers, starting with the
6" x 6" card.
Add the wood veneer scalloped square and
your white square, and then sew the perimeter
of the white square.
Add glue randomly to your white square and
add clear glitter.
step 4. Make sure to use your spatula to help remove the
items safely and preserve your mat.

step 11.
Glue down your denim flowers and add your
buttons to the center.
Take your scrap of muslin and rip into a strip, and cut the end to a
pennant style.
Add text to your muslin with stamps and permanent ink.
Now your card is done! This card, with all of its fun details and textures,
is perfect for any occasion.
