11th December 2015
Kia Ora Koutou And greetings to everyone in our school community. This is our last newsletter for 2015. What can I say that hasn’t already been said all year? We have had a wonderful year. Yes we’ve had our ups and downs, but wow we have had some wonderful things to celebrate! Last night we had our end of year Staff/Board Christmas dinner and I said then that we have had such great success in academic, sporting and cultural aspects in 2015 that there really are just too many to enumerate. That hasn’t changed overnight so I’m not going to list all the great things about this year here either (that’s the Board Chair’s job at prize giving next week). What I will say is how proud I am of all our students and our staff. Without their effort, none of these achievements would have occurred. Yesterday we held our last school assembly for the year. I looked at all of those students, all of their eager faces, all of their interest and fascination in the world around them and thought about how fortunate we are. Fortunate to have such great students. Fortunate to live in such a great and supportive community. Fortunate to have a Board who really cares about our school and focuses on student achievement as a way forward. Fortunate to have such a great school environment that feeds our goals. Yep, we’re definitely fortunate. We have final Prize Giving next Tuesday. After Prize-giving primary students will be handed their reports and then will be free to leave with parents. Year 9/10 reports will be available for parents/caregivers to pick up from the office. Any that are not picked up will be posted out. School finishes after Prize Giving on Tuesday. Buses leave at 12.30pm – PLEASE let the office or bus driver know if you are taking your child. See you at Prize Giving. Kia Kaha. Tina Johnson Principal
