Last year saw a few select commercial shops opening up in Jebel Sifah. These include Totem, a popular clothing and accessories brand, Nejd, an Omani handicraft and incense outlet, GIB (German Interior Brand) furniture shop, a flower shop and supermarket. Others that will shortly be added to the list include an outlet by Bait Muzna displaying Omani heritage and another offering an array of water activities at the Jebel Sifah marina.

Envision a board meeting on the beach or in a luxurious Omani tent for a corporate event... The Sifawy Boutique Hotel is offering inspiration venue options to conduct business and is on the fast track to become a popular meeting and conference destination.

At the same time, it does offer conventional space as well. The ultra-modern Al Majlis Hall is furnished with the finest communication and presentation technology that includes an in-built PA-system, wireless Internet, automated screen and projector that can accommodate up to 150 guests. Alternatively, the Hajjar boardroom is

STAYING GREEN Right since its inception in 2006, Muriya has maintained that it will only develop 25 per cent of the land in both its integrated tourism complexes so that residents and visitors will be able to enjoy the natural beauty of the destinations.

The commitment to stay green has been further supported by

the 4000 sq m of land set aside to serve as a nursery/ garden centre where all the required plants for the destination are potted and grown. It is also the destination most frequented by property owners to pick up an assortment of ornamental and flowering plants and shrubs for their gardens and balconies assisted by helpful horticulturalists.

an ideal alternative for smaller scale events that can accommodate up to 12 delegates with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the majestic Al Hajjar Mountains. Furthermore, the library can be converted

into a setting for meetings and brainstorming ideas for a maximum of eight members. It overlooks the swimming pool and is equipped with two computer workstations with Internet and printer access, converting into a compact workspace if the need arises.

The ample outdoor space is also an ideal destination for corporate gatherings, weddings, gala dinners, product launches, concerts or cultural events.

The consistent and dedicated development of the Jebel Sifah destination can be seen right from the time that one embarks on the drive to Jebel Sifah from Muscat. The scenic Yiti-Sifah road is broader in many places and is well marked. Construction of the main arteries that connect the villas and apartments

Jebel Sifah plans to have in place 950 residential units, an 18-hole PGA golf course and an 100-berth inland marina that will be surrounded by a picturesque, bustling marina town housing a total of 44 retail outlets. In addition to the currently operational Sifawy Boutique Hotel, there will be five more five-star properties in the Jebel Sifah destination including some of the world’s most prestigious brands such as Four Seasons, Missoni, Banyan Tree and Angsana. Restaurants, cafes, luxuriously appointed spas and boutiques featuring the latest in fashion, will complete the town’s offerings.

Close to 31 keys were delivered last year to residents wanting to move into their new apartments in the marina town offering a spectacular view to

the marina at any time of the day. In addition, a couple of villas were also handed over to owners keen to move into their dream homes. An overall total of 127 apartments and 31 villas have been sold since the launch of the first phase of which 74 apartment keys and 6 villa keys have been handed over to the proud owners.

As the residential units in Salalah Beach start to get occupied, Muriya has got busy renting out retail outlets to serve the convenience of the residents. Residents and visitors alike can be seen sipping their coffee and enjoying the weather at the newly opened coffee shop. The recently launched supermarket has started receiving visitors.

Several key components in Salalah Beach have been put in place in 2013 that is reflecting its vision of Muriya to build not just a resort but a legacy – a town that would serve as a model for other developments. In addition

Forging ahead, Muriya needed to expand its base to reach out to more customers. Last year, it started Facebook page to interact with the current patrons and reach out to potential clients. In just a week, Muriya clocked 2000 likes and within two months, 20,000 fans had been added to the company’s database – not just from Oman, but also the UAE, Kuwait and KSA. By the end of the year, www.facebook.com/MuriyaOman had reached 39,400+ likes.

by a host of interactive campaigns such as ‘Like and Win’ wherein five winners were awarded two nights stay for two at the Sifawy Boutique Hotel inclusive of breakfast. The promotion received 1800 registrations. Another that proved to be immensely popular was a photography competition that provided a platform for keen participants to post pictures of Jebel Sifah taken by them. 2013 was a milestone for Salalah Beach and Jebel Sifah destinations as they tied up with Nawras to provide advanced and improved 3G connectivity to its residents and visitors. In Jebel Sifah, uninterrupted high speed connection is available in the villas, apartments, around the marina and Sifawy Hotel.

Salalah Beach has been the venue for the first permanent ‘palm tree’ tower set up by the service provider. The unique tower has been so designed to blend

To continue uninterrupted fast access in both destinations as well as extend connectivity to support projects that will be operational this year, provisions are already in place to upgrade the service to 4G as and when required.
