A really sharp looking solid coloured bull that seems to have a great future. Coming from an unique pedigree of Hager Junior and Essie 2 although we have sold a couple of high selling sisters this is the last of the embryos. Although his recipient didn’t seem to be doing the job look at his average daily gain on test of 5.30 lbs and his 1500 lb. yearling weight.
Another long, deep sided, nicely coloured bull sired by Gong. 317T is out of the best cow we have on the farm, Siska 409M (mother of Evolution). Gong is a bull we use here at Bar 5 on the farm and we really like his calves. This should be a great combination. Top 10% in calving ease, top 4% in weaning gain and top 10% in carcass values right where we want to be. Have a good look at him!

Another solid coloured, goggled eyed, really put together nicely bull who was by his mother’s side while she was flushed at Alta Genetics. He entered the test group late so he didn’t get the benefit of the full test but has grown into a really sharp individual and should be a good sire for the future, His pedigree tells the story sired by the super performance bull Stimulation and mothered by the donor cow C0410R a Horris daughter.

An easy to look at, nicely put together Hero son. 305T is a smaller framed bull for the modern herd with a solid colour pattern, big goggles and structurally correct. His Dam, Erin 420P, was one of the three look-a-like Irene daughters sired by Gold. 420P was sold to Dumont Gauge last year.
Probably one of the most famous pedigrees here at Bar 5 is the Gold Irene combination. If you have visited the farm in the last couple of years you would remember 416P, 420P and 440P. Here is a bull with the same pedigree as his three famous sisters. He will make an excellent herd sire!

A deep sided, thick top, smooth shouldered bull with lots of volume. He should be a fit for most herds. This is one of our first Survivor sons and he looks the part of a herd sire.

A longer framed, dark red coloured bull with goggles, a great top line and very pleasing to look at with a Rib eye of the right size and with good carcass values. He has plenty of scrotal size and looks the part of a herd sire.
A well balanced, structured bull with a little larger frame. Good colouring, goggled and with a good size rib eye and lots of scrotal. The bull is sired by a calving ease bull, Bar 5 SA Joe 412P, and it shows up in the BIO’s as low birth weight and calving ease. This bull is out of one of Roy’s donor cows CO803M.

A deep soggy bull on a medium frame, with lots of scrotal. We are very impressed with Sanmar Polled Pharao’s calves. This one is no exception coming out of a Polled Full Fleck Expert daughter we purchased from Donna and Julius Rauscher. We like this guy so much that Mom is getting bred back the same way. This bull will put pounds of beef in the right spots on to your next calf crop.

This tank is the thickest muscled, performance oriented black bull calf I have ever seen. This May calf is large nutted, big butted and lotsa guts. This broody, easy on the eyes heifer has a solid pedigree. Gong on the top side and the Ibbie sired Dam 838N was a combination that definitely worked. Just like mother 321T will make a long, stretchy cow with lots of femininity. 838N was one of the feature cows in our Fall Sale in 2008 who sold to Champion Farms. She has solid numbers with excellent carcass values.

Another easy to look at Angus heifer with style and good growth performance. She comes to you sired by Earley Dateline out of a Harprey heifer we bought a couple of years ago and is doing a good job here at Bar 5.
This heifer is performance personified with very high EPD’s across the board both within breed and all breeds. While the performance is good, the ultrasound information is even better. This is one of our real good calves out of Slap Shot from a cow we bought from Earley.

A very good Gardens Special (Precision son) sired heifer from LCC Linda LG955. This was the result of an embryo from the Leachman Cattle Company. TERMS & CONDITIONSTERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. ALL CHEQUES SHALL BE MADE PAYABLE TO BAR 5 STOCK FARMS. No sale will be considered valid until and unless payment made out to BAR 5 STOCK FARMS is received and cleared. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Bar 5 Stock Farms reserve full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter.
ALL SETTLEMENTS MUST BE MADE WITH THE CLERKS OF THE SALE BEFORE ANY CATTLE
WILL BE RELEASED.
BID: Every animal consigned to the sale will be sold by auction to highest bidder.
DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved if no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The Auctioneer`s decision in such matters will be final. The Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale.
PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser`s risk for a reasonable length of time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in this catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to such announcements.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: The proper Registration or Recordation paper, as the case may be, will be duly transferred and furnished.
TRANSPORTATION: Bar 5 will arrange for trucking to your farm or a central point; the following normal charges will apply unless the buyer wishes to take care of shipping themselves:
Local $50, Ottawa Valley $150, Montreal $200, Maritimes $250, Manitoba $200, Saskatchewan & Alberta $250, and U.S.A. $300.
BREEDERS GUARANTEEBULLS: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows know to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will be suitable for artificial insemination.
FEMALES: Cows represented as being “pregnancy tested, sage in calf” have been examined and declared by a licensed veterinarian and will be accompanied by a veterinarian’s certificate to the effect.
They are considered breeders without further guarantee. Cows with calves at side shall be considered breeders also without further guarantee; cows and heifers represented at “bred” are not guaranteed safe in calf but they are open heifers selling as individual lots are guaranteed to be breeders. No guarantee shall apply to sucking calves. In the event a female is claimed to be a non-breeder, after having been bred regularly to a bull known to be a breeder and after having been treated by a licensed veterinarian, the matter must be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months of sale date. For heifers under twelve (12) months of age and purchased as a single lots and who fail to conceive to the services of a bull known to be a breeder, the matter must be reported in writing to the seller before the heifer reaches eighteen (18) months of age. The seller shall have six (6) additional months in which to prove any such female a breeder and may use any registered bull of the breed available to him. Any female returned will be at the purchaser’s risk. No guarantee is given that a pregnant female will deliver live calves nor that she will carry calves full term not that the calf carried will not be mummified. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold nor for sickness not apparent at sale time.
EXCEPTION OF GUARANTEE: In cases where the animal is subjected to hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.
SETTLEMENT: TRANSPORTATIONS CHARGES ON ANIMALS RETURNED TO THE SELLER ARE FOR
ACCOUNT OF THE PURCHASER.
No incidental expenses such as feed, A.I. signing fees, interest, veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by the either party when making settlement. FI the seller is successful in proving the animal a breeder, the said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense Should the seller fail to prove the animal a breeder, then the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement, F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual purchase price paid F.O.B. selling point. In no event shall the seller by responsible for more than the purchase price. Should a dispute arise over the quality of the replacement animal, the Sales Management will appoint a mediator.
HEALTH: All animals will have passed the required tests as determined by Agriculture Canada at sale location. It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province, state or country.
ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Owners, sales Management nor Staff, assume any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of both parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
