Favorite Medium: Oils

As a child I always loved to draw, color and design paper doll clothes. About twenty-five years ago I decided to take an art class through Parks and Recreation at Denton Elementary School with M. Joyce Zeigler as the

instructor. From that point on I have been hooked on oil painting.

Since I started painting I have been so much more aware of my surroundings. Things such as cloud formations, the shape of a tree, colors, textures and even hidden treasures such as a deer peeking from a forest edge. I have a love for nature - flowers, birds, old barns and lighthouses.

I have been taking classes with Joyce for many years. I have also taken classes at the Trading Post with several artists including Kurt Plinke. I have had or presently still have paintings in several galleries including LuEv and Cottage Studios in Easton, Gallery 214 in Oxford, and the Foundry in Denton.

When I’m not painting, I play Bridge, love to cook and sew, love to read, but especially love doing things with my family and friends.

Second Saturday at the ArtswaySaturday, September 10, 2016, 4-6 PM

Note: this activity will take place from 4-6pm instead of the usual 2-4pm time to coincide with our with Block Party!

On Saturday, September 10, 2-4pm, The Foundry community art gallery will offer a painting demonstration by Foundry artist, Frannie Ireland. This activity is free and open to all ages. The Artsway is located in downtown Denton. Demonstrations and activities from a variety of artists are typically held at The Foundry community arts gallery (401 Market St.), FACES (7 N. Fourth St.) and/or at the Community Demonstration Garden (behind FACES).

Community Arts Block PartySaturday, September 10, 4-7 PM

The Caroline County Council of Arts invites the public to attend their 8th annual Community Arts Block Party on Saturday, September 10th from 4-7 pm on Fourth Street between Market and Gay Streets, in downtown Denton. Attendees will enjoy a free celebration of the arts – with live

entertainment, artists’ demonstrations, art activities for all ages, and lots of fun for the whole family. Activities will take place throughout the Artsway area including The Fiber Arts Center of the Eastern Shore (FACES), The Denton Community Demonstration Garden, and The Foundry community arts gallery. Food and drink concessions will be available.

The community is encouraged to come out have fun, show support, and find out more about the Artsway, the Arts Council, and its many programs.
