The perfect place to discover Amsterdam: its past, present and future. Amsterdam Museum is an old building with winding stairs and floors that don’t quite match. Fortunately, we have managed to adapt most areas for all visitors. Nevertheless, a few sections remain inaccessible for wheelchair users and require a detour. This folder provides the information you need to get around. Museum staff are also on hand to assist where necessary. LIFTS & TOILETS Spacious lifts are available at two locations. Three platform lifts are also available: at room 0.9 and 0.2 and opposite the entrance to Museum Café Mokum. Staff are on hand to assist. Check the plan for the location of our disabled-friendly facilities. The museum has three wheelchair-friendly toilets. DNA EXHIBITION & MORE To view the Amsterdam DNA presentation, take LIFT A to the first floor. To see more of the museum after DNA, return to LIFT A and go down to the basement [- 1.1]. Continue along to the end of the mirror corridor. Take LIFT B to access the temporary exhibitions and other rooms featuring our permanent presentation. ROOMS 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 To get to the Golden Age rooms [0.2 to 0.5] start at the door in the main courtyard. Ask for assistance at the desk. One of our wardens will help you at the door. The exhibition rooms lead back to the same entrance door. Unfortunately, part of room 0.4 is not accessible. NOT ACCESSIBLE We regret that some parts of the museum are inaccessible for wheelchair users: • Governors room [Room 0.12] • Part of room 0.4 [Golden Age] • The Little Orphanage family presentation Please also visit our MuseumShop and Museumcafé Mokum.
