The aim is to reproduce a phrase, a title or a poster, into three dimensions, preferibly referring to a text found within the ‘Fondazione Primo Conti’.
It will be a stimulating afternoon and will give us an introduction into the world of typography, manual skills and into getting our hands dirty. Each participant will be able to reproduce one or two wooden letters, applying the same skills that were used in the past for sign making. Under the guidance and supervision of the British restorer Jane Harman, we will learn the basic techniques used in cutting out and working the wood in order to reproduce a three dimensional font. Join us in an afternoon created especially for parents and kids. Participants will be given material for a treasure hunt to become familiar with the museum created for the event by guide Molly McIlwrath.

L’intenzione è di riprodurre insieme, in tre dimensioni, uno scritto o un manifesto futurista, preferibilmente appartenente alla ‘Fondazione Primo Conti’.
Sarà un pomeriggio stimolante all’insegna della tipografia applicata, del lavoro manuale e dello sporcarsi la mani. Ciascun partecipante avrà la possibilità di riprodurre una o più lettere in legno con le modalità con cui un tempo si realizzavano le insegne. Con la guida e la supervisione della Restauratrice inglese Jane Harman impareremo le tecniche base di intaglio e lavorazione del legno che ci permetteranno di ricavare la versione tridimen-sionale di una font. I partecipanti potranno partecipare prima in una caccia a tesoro creata dalla guida Molly McIlwrath per conoscere la collezione del museo.
