What is a Digipak?• A Digipak is compilation of a number of different releases by an

artist- usually featuring songs, videos, interviews, live footage and behind the scenes footage.

• To encourage fans to buy a digipak, they usually include exclusive ‘extras’ such as posters, free exclusive downloads, t-shirts, gig tickets, competition entries or other free band/artist merchandise. This is to make sure it is worth purchasing the physical copy of the digipak, and so that the fan will feel as though they are getting their money’s worth.

• The advert that accompanies the digipak also needs to be appealing to the fan, as this might be the only thing they see before purchasing their physical copy, for example if buying online. There needs to be a recurring aesthetical theme between the digipak and its advert, as well as between both these things and the music video itself.

Features of My Digipak & Advert

• I will use the Digipak as a way to encourage fans of my artist to buy a physical copy of her video. As it is unusual to create such an item for just one video, it is important to market the product as having lots of extra features to make it worth the physical purchase, such as interviews, live footage and exclusive photographs and posters.

This hand-out features an image of the digipak’s cover to help advertise the product, as a potential buyer would now recognise it in store or online.

There will also be a poster to advertise the digipak; the poster will be very similar to the cover of the digipak itself, so that a potential buyer knows what it is they are looking for when purchasing.

The digipak features a large image of the artist for promotion purposes.
