Masthead- The masthead is placed in the top left corner of the magazine to make it noticeable. The letter ‘Q’ is written in a large white font up against a red square to make them both stand out from each others backgrounds.

Slogan- The slogan is written at the bottom of the red square written is white writing to stand out again. The purpose of the slogan is to make the magazine more memorable, for example the slogan for this magazine is ‘Discover Great Music’. This fits in with the theme of the magazine because the magazine is based on music. It helps the reader link the easily remembered slogan to the magazine

itself.

Image- The main image is of a very famous and well known artist, this is a close up image of Adele who is posing very sexually to appeal to the target audience and get the interest/attention of the target audience.

Chocolate Box- This image of Adele is a chocolate box image because it has a half full smile, lips slightly open and barely visible and a full face view of the image.

Text- The text is justified to the side of the page because this is a common convention of a magazine.

Barcode- The magazine uses a barcode because this is a common convention

of a magazine.

Target Audience- The target audience for this magazine will range from young teenagers to middle aged women (16-40) due to the colour scheme and the general theme of the it.

Colour Scheme- The colour scheme of the magazine is very minimalist using only a small range of colours. The main colour scheme of this particular magazine is usually red and white, but in the image of Adele, she is wearing a purple top, which ties in with her nail varnish and then the gold button on the front cover ties in with the golden brown colour of her hair and eye shadow. All the colours on the front cover tie in with each other so that the magazine can maintain a constant colour scheme throughout.

Cover line- The cover line states the artist featuring in this edition of the magazine in bold writing to attract a shopper and then adds a quote by the artist in slightly smaller writing to make

the reader look up closer to read it.

Pulling Quote- The pulling quote is by Adele and it says ‘If you’ve got it, flaunt it’ which is a quote taken from the main article of her interview with the magazine company. This quote is used because it makes the readers curious and want to know what the conversation was about making the magazine more a desirable item to buy.

Buttons- The use of the button on the

magazine cover is to emphasise the importance and the relevance of the subject inside the button to attract the audience into finding out more about it.

Selling Lines- On this magazine cover, the selling lines are used to promote different articles throughout the magazine. The use of putting a small segment of the article on the front cover is so that it interest and attracts the readers and it will also make them want to buy the magazine to read it.
