Large mast head tells the audience what magazine this is and also the logo has a cracked glass effect in it which links it in with the rock theme.

List of artists that are inside the magazine which attracts fans of these bands to buy the magazine.

Spiky text box stands out from the standard square ones which catches the audiences eye.

Competition which attracts the reader as they have a chance to win something.

Fans of this band will be attracted to read this magazine so they can learn more from their favourite band.

Differences• The Kerrang! Magazines title appeals to the audience

more so than the NME magazine because the font gives off a rock theme whereas the NME doesn’t as it doesn’t really have any editing on the font.

• The Kerrang! Magazine has most of their sub- titles telling the reader what else is inside the magazine on the left third which is normal to see on a magazine however the sub-titles of the NME magazine are in the middle third which is unusual to see on a front cover.

• The text on the front cover on the Kerrang! magazine is straight whereas some of the text on the NME cover is on an angle.

Similarities • Both magazines have a large main image on the front

cover so that the reader can easily see what the main article is going to be about so they know straight away if they’re going to be interested in buying the magazine.

• Both magazines seem to aim there magazines towards younger people as the Kerrang! magazine uses abbreviations of phrases that young people would understand and NME uses the informal way the magazine is laid out to attract the younger audience.

• Also both magazines tells the reader what else is inside the magazines using cover lines which makes the reader more likely to buy it if they know what’s going to be inside.
