The soundtrack overlapping the visuals, with the hard drum and violin conventionally used to create drama and tension are used in the music video to signify the drama they have as superheroes. This type of music is typically found in animated films such a superman, batman etc, further initiating the superhero theme. Furthermore, the sound effects used in this music video are vital, to ensure the visuals match the sound. In this shot, there is a sound effect of him putting on a glove, and then the action match shot of him putting on the shot at the same time to make it more realistic to the audience.

Another editing technique is the use of visual effects. CGI, and green screen, along with the costumes and make up provoke the audience to feel their bravery as they are masculine men, promoting the concept of their music video ‘Don’t Stop’ which has an implicit meaning.

Another convention used in this music video is lip syncing as well as them ‘playing’ the instruments to make it feel to the audience as if the song is being performed to them. Furthermore, with the speakers all around them and a dark setting signifies more of a ‘gig’ setting, making it more realistic and giving them an insight to how it would feel if they went and saw the band in concert, a technique used to engage more profit and engage their target audience to come to a concert of theirs.

In this shot, one of the key aspects stated in Andrew Goodwin’s theory is used; the relationship between the song and the visuals. In this scene, the stop sign and when the lyrics are saying ‘stop’ are synchronised. This scene uses another theory of Binary Opposites by Levi Strauss, as there are binary opposites, of the superhero making peace and trying to help the elderly lady, whereas the elderly lady tries to push him away creating panic and drama, 2 different characters. This opposition has been created for comical reasons, to attract teenagers and young adult audiences.

There is also more sound effects used at the end of the explosion to match the visuals accompanied by superimpose.

During this shot is low key lighting, and spotlights on the band, this makes it focused completely on them, with a shallow focus in the background; your attention is completely drawn towards the lead singer. Furthermore, the instruments surrounding the location are conventional to pop music which signifies the genre of the music video.
