Music Video Analysis Comment on the following aspects in relation to your music video choice. How will these techniques appeal to the target audience needs? Target Audience & Needs The target audience for this type of music video will mainly be based on people that like to watch horror films because this music video seemed like a short horror film and within the music video it included demons and weird little children with all the same faces terrorising people in quite a large flat block. And this music video can also be based at emo’s because it gives us quite a big stereotype at who this will be aimed at because it is a very dark and scary setting. In my opinion I didn’t like this music video because it didn’t really seem like a music video because it repeated the same lyrics but it wasn’t the same as the other one because these lyrics are quite strange and scary. Although this is aimed at my age category which is teenagers and young adults I would never consider listening to this type of music. Also this music video is based on a narrative based theme because it tells us a short story. Lyrics (Meaning Implied?) The lyrics within this music video was also repeated, but these lyrics had turned out to become a really freaky and horror type theme by saying the same three lines which was, “I want your soul” “I want to eat your soul” and when he was calling his devil children he repeated “Come to Daddy” which is the title of the song. With the lyrics being very aggressive that also had to lead the people making the video to do act out

Music Video Analysis

Comment on the following aspects in relation to your music video choice. How will these techniques appeal to the target audience needs?

Target Audience & Needs

The target audience for this type of music video will mainly be based on people that like to watch horror films because this music video seemed like a short horror film and within the music video it included demons and weird little children with all the same faces terrorising people in quite a large flat block.

Lyrics (Meaning Implied?)

The lyrics within this music video was also repeated, but these lyrics had turned out to become a really freaky and horror type theme by saying the same three lines which was, “I want your soul” “I want to eat your soul” and when he was calling his devil children he repeated “Come to Daddy” which is the title of the song. With the lyrics being very aggressive that also had to lead the people making the video to do act out quite aggressive things and they decided to use terrorising people that lived in the flat block.

Music Video Analysis

Tempo The tempo that they decided to use this music was extremely upbeat and aggressive, because the music was very loud and fast paced so that also meant that the footage had to be speeded up so it matches the tempo in the music video a bit better. But at one point in the music video the tempo suddenly changed, and it went to quite an enjoyable mood because at the time two children was skipping out of the flat block but moments after the loud and aggressive music kicked in again and it wentcrazy with fights and also a demon screaming in an old woman’s face once it came out the TV screen.

Genre The genre of this music video is quite a complicated one because it uses two different types of music from Ambient and Dark to like a Joyful music but also spooky at the same time because they played that after they terrorised some people, so it might mean they are happy about doing it. This music genre in my overall opinion does match the music video because it is an extremely dark and Ambient genre type.

Camera Technique The camera techniques used in this music video are vary across quite a wide range because they used camera shots such as, long shots, mid shots, close ups, tracking shots, wide range shot and a two shot. In this music video the camera techniques work really well with the tempo of the song because the camera is a slight bit shaky to show this is quite an aggressive action scene.

Music Video Analysis

Editing When the music video editors came to edit this video they liked to use some jump cuts and then normal cuts, in which the scenes can move swiftly between each other so the music video has a better quality and is more visible. Also when they came to edit the video they have managed to put the music in correctly so it looks like the demon inside the TV is actually speaking.

Use of Digital Effects This music video had quite an interesting use of digital effects to it because it made the screen look very glitch and bright as it cut into a different shot. Also they darkened most of the sets to give it more of a spooky feeling to match the tempo, lyrics and the music genre itself. They also roughly made the some of the sets black and white but it was more a grey fade. In all of the use of digital effects they did a lot of work on it by making the face appear on the TV screen and start shouting the same three lines over and over again.
