Characters

Characters

• I chose these characters for my mood board as they have the style or ‘look’ that I want to go for in my music video. I want to do an “alternative” or “indie” type of music video and so the pastel colours and relaxing nature of the people in the pictures I have chosen compliment this idea very well. I find that these things tend to be pleasing to look at, relaxing and make you feel good because it’s all just easy-going. These types of characters would enhance this feeling throughout the music video I want to record.

Props

• I have chosen these pictures as an idea of what props I may use in my ‘indie’/alternative’ music video. I think these props are minimal and therefore will be effective in my video as there will be more time to focus on the voice, lyrics and music of the video rather than concentrating on what’s around. I like the idea of love or unrequited love for a music video as it’s more relatable for a maturing teenage audience.

Setting

Setting

• I chose these pictures of areas for an idea of what setting I may use in my ‘indie’/’alternative’ music video. I think that these settings could possibly be used in contrast to what the song’s about – for example, a dark setting for a happier love song or a light setting for a more melancholy love song. The rainbow, for example, could show both happiness and sadness between each other which may reach out to my target audience of maturing teenagers. The settings could show the song in a literal sense too, where the darker settings represent the sadness of a song and the lighter settings could represent the happiness of a song. This is a topic that maturing teenagers, more often than not, relate to.
