proceedings and took part in them.

A new and notable feature was

the direct delivery of speeches by

overseas members such as Mr

great morale boaster for our own

nations led to contributions of al-

most 10 million Pakistani Rupees.

May Allah bless all those who do-

nated so generously and reward

the very young to old.

The proceedings started with the Fajr

prayers after which an enlightening expo-

sition of the Holy Quran was delivered.

their sacrifice.

Sad Killings in France

President of the UK branch sent

the following response to a website

in the US when it was felt that

Muslims were being needlessly

apologetic over the killings. It was

a crime by some terrorists and we

are saddened by the loss of life and

sympathise with those left behind

but Islam does not teach Muslims

to behave in this manner. Rather

rush into denouncing Islam and

Muslims people need to sit down

and look at why some Muslims

behave in this manner. These are

not people who have gone to

madrassas in Pakistan but mostly

born in the West and educated

here. Muslims too need to look at

what they are being taught in the

name of Islam and check to see

whether this represents the true

teachings or there is some political

agenda underlying.

Dear Mike assalamu alaikum

We've all got carried away by this

perceived attack on 'freedom of

expression'. But let us look at facts

and ask: So where is the freedom of

expression?:-

France has banned hijab and anyone

wearing hijab cannot get a job with

the French government.

France has a criminal offence which

Ayaz Aziz

is denying the Holocaust took

place. This is true of most EU

countries. Even EU has a law which

says this.

Switzerland has banned the build-

ing of anything that looks like a

mosque.

Charlie Hedbo's editor, who is now

a martyr, sacked one of his col-

umnists for writing this sentence:

“Our young lad, he will go far”

because it was felt this was insult-

ing to the Jews. All the columnist

was doing was poking funs at Presi-

dent Sarkozi's son who had become

engaged to a Jewess-heiress to a

large fortune. When the columnist

refused to apologise he was sacked.

For years I’ve tried in the US to get

air-time, space etc. for advertise-

ments saying Israel is a terrorist

state but I've been unsuccessful.

My son offered the New York

Times $100,000 to run an adver-

tisement for a week with this head-

ing and quoting facts but was re-

fused.

It appears to me that the so called

freedom of expression is there only

to insult Islam, Muslims and the

Holy Prophet Muhammad (s).

Has France ever apologised for the

murder of tens of thousands of

Muslims in Algeria or the Buddhists

in Vietnam?

Oh and am I going to be allowed to

print a cartoon poking fun at the

Holocaust? if not,

why not?

Let us stand with our heads held

high - we have nothing to apologise

for. It is the Western Governments

who need to apologise for giving

money to get votes to organisations

which support terrorism, for sell-

ing arms and armaments to coun-

tries that suppress freedom and for

making Muslims feel like second

class citizens.

Shahid Aziz

President

Worldwide Ahmadiyya Associa-tions for Propagation of Islam (UK branch)

From: "Moazam [email protected] [WorldMuslimCongress]"

Well said!

'fazlur rehman faridi' [email protected] [WorldMuslimCongress]

Salam

Well said Shahid, indeed. And trust me you are not alone and Muslims and unbiased journalists, column-ists, statesmen are getting tired of too! No, we should not parrot what west and its hypocrite leaders parrot. Nor should we apologize. Next time someone asks Muslims to condemn, let us turn the tables on those bigots and ask them to apologize for their own skeletons. And the apology should be public.
