M "Misleading" can occur more rapidly in technology than mythology. Look for “dated” popular fiction, obsolete information, books containing racial, cultural or sexual stereotyping.

Endangered Animals by Rhonda Donald(2001) is a bit dated, rendering the information possibly obsolete. Many animals may have either come off the endangered list or been added.

U "Ugly" refers to the physical condition of the book: antiquated appearance, worn-out, frayed, dirty, unable to mend.

Hiding in a Coral Reef by Patricia Whitehouse (2003)- Damaged spine.

S "Superseded": there may be newer copies available, duplicate copies, almanacs, yearbooks, encyclopedias superseded by newer editions.

Sneaky,spinning,baby,Spiders by Sandra Markle (2008) has 4 copies with only two being checked out in the past year.

T "Trivial": look for appropriateness for the collection. Check for poor writing, inaccurate information, an inappropriate interest or reading level for students. 

Animals ABC by Alec Llech (1996) really has no need to be in this section, and shows itself to be of no real interest to the students.

Y "Your collection" has no need for this book in the curriculum.

All of the books I saw in our collection can be used with the curriculum.
