Questions to Ask CustomersQuestions to Ask CustomersWhere is the sign going?
•Many states have MUTCD supplements and additional sign requirements
oIf not a Federally regulated sign, may be a state specific design
• If a parking sign, many states have specific requirements on wording and fines
•To determine if a state has an MUTCD supplement, visit: http://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/resources/state_info/index.htm
The designation number if possible
•Having the number helps determine the exact requirements
•This number also makes finding state specific signs much easier
If the requested sign is not a regulated sign, do they want us to follow the design standards?
•There are many signs in use that are not regulated. We can design a sign to follow the current standards for Regulatory, Warning and Guide signs
