WHAT HAV

E I LEARNED

FROM MY AUDIENCE

FEEDBACK?

Page 2: My Audience Feedback

WHAT AUDIENCE FEEDBACK HAVE I RECEIVED?In order to receive feedback on my video I did a variety of

things;• I posted my video on YouTube with the setting as; public.

Allowing all to view my video and give comments.• I posted my video on Facebook, asking for feedback allowing

my friends to comment. I also had a friend post it on Facebook to see what feedback she would receive.

• I asked people in person what they thought of my video asking for criticism and positive comments.

YOUTUBE CLIP FEEDBACK My video has been live on YouTube

for exactly five weeks (35 days) and in that time it has received 192 views.

It has been viewed in places all over the world

Here is a map of all the places where my video had been viewed and below shows the straight view count in these countries.

It is most popular in the UK which I believe to be due to a few factors; I tabbed it as ‘A2 Media Video’ and mainly people in the UK (primarily England) take A levels.

This chart shows how popular my video has been over the period it has been live on YouTube. It shows that the most popular periods are just over a week after its being made live and then it has another peak at about a month in.

I looked into the Demographics of my video and discovered that it is watched more by a Female audience than a male audience. This is quite probable because it has a female protagonist making it more relatable to females themselves.

The demographics also told me what the age range is that watches my video. The results are as expected as younger generations are known to use the internet and YouTube more. This age group is also the age in which music video’s and pop culture are most evident. (18-24 being the most popular). This means that my target audience (15 - 30) was accurate as most of the views lie within this range.

FACEBOOK FEEDBACKMy video was posted twice on Facebook once by me and

once by a friend. The two posts had two very different responses.

This one (from a friend) contained more comments,

all very positive

And this one (by me) had more likes and only one

comment

MY FEEDBACK VIDEOMy video (posted below) shows feedback directly from people

who have watched my video. This is what I have found from their comments;

Positive Feedback;• Smooth editing, to the beat• Interesting narrative and themes• Interesting/engaging stop motion section• The video was in tune with the genre• Good choice of songNegative Feedback;• Use of fades at the beginning (in the piano clips) are too

abrupt

SUMMERY OF MY FEEDBACKI believe my research was successful as my expectations for my

target audience age were accurate and my video appears to be liked by the age range and social groups I intended it to be.

Facebook provided very positive feedback so I believe my video looks professional and uses the same conventions as real media products, making it a very accurate and realistic music video.

Other than slightly clipped fades over the piano clips my video looks professionally edited, well set out and had interesting ideas and themes driving it.

IDEAS I LIKED AND IDEAS I WOULD CHANGEMy feedback has all been very positive and I am very pleased with he

end result. I have learned a lot about how to make a video and just how important the planning stages of a video are.

I really liked my narrative and I am specifically pleased with the stop motion clip I made and I would like to use this method of creating film and to experiment with it further in future as I like the incredibly engaging properties and ‘WOW’ factor it has when done well.

I am pleased with my overall video yet personally I feel the narrative becomes slightly too pacey towards the end. If I were to re-do the project I would move the narrative forward slightly in order to change this.
