Our Story project MEC, East and McKinley High Schools
68 students @ East HS from 7 elementary schools (Futures, MST, Badillo, L.T. Wright, H. Austin, Porter and Sedita). Goal – 210 students
30 Students in English AP; Soc. Studies AP upcoming
-36 students enrolled in Intro to C.S. and Sociology (Medgar Evers College)-NYC/MEC Trip – in Spring
-Mentoring RPF forthcoming-100 students in Youth Leadership Council Planning (Say Yes)
-200 students engaged in site visits to companies-Speakers series in our classrooms-Internships forthcoming

• 200+ Pre-K Parents attended the transportation awareness event• 54 Parents attended the “Kindergarten Readiness” & “Busy World of Pre-K” courses in our Strong
Community Schools’ parent centers• 92 students attended the “Our Story Project” at Lafayette and Middle Early College High Schools• 85 Students visited the National Museum of African American History and Culture Museum & a
Latino Play in Washington, DC• 87 males attended the Boys to Men Conference (East H.S.)• 42 Students were engaged in paid internships this summer at the City of Buffalo’s Fire
Department, Buffalo State College and Computers for Children (East, Louis J. Bennett, South Park and Lafayette High Schools)
• 67 Students attended the summer Middle School Male Academy (MST, Futures, Harvey Austin, Lydia T. Wright and Herman Badillo)
• 100+ Men of color greeted the students. Many wish to be mentors.• 36 Students from East, MST and Lafayette are currently enrolling in two on-line college courses
via Medgar Evers College• BPS is leading the work in partnership with Say Yes and the City of Buffalo
