Autumn’s Birthday SurpriseWritten and Illustrated by:

Today was Autumn’s fifth birthday party and it was a princess theme with princess hats, cups, plates and even a princess cake.

At her birthday party her mum, dad, aunties and uncles were there. Autumns grandparents were not there yet and she was excited to get there gift. So far she had gotten a princess dress, pink tiara, gloves and even a pink mirror which sparkled.

When the front door opened Autumn had ran towards it to give her grandma a hug. Her grandpa was holding an enormous chest and he put it in front of her.

Autumn opens the chest and pulls out one of the costume and looks at it. Autumn then said ‘did you get me anything else grandpa’

Grandpa said ‘No sweetheart but these costumes are very magical and you will have a wonderful time when you put them on’

Autumn sighs and puts the dress back in the chest. Autumn then goes and hugs her grandparents and said ‘thank you’.

The next day Autumn opens the chest which is in her room and puts on the kimono. A light begins to glow and then Autumn is in the middle of the road.

Autumn looks around and sees Great Wall of China behind her. She screams because she is in China.

Autumn walked to a stall and saw fortune cookies in different wrappers. She decides to try a fortune cookies and when she breaks the cookie she is back home.

On Wednesday Autumn had walked to the chest and picked out a beret and a light began to glow and then she was now in France.

Autumn was in front of the Eiffel Tower and was lost in translation as French words surrounded her.

Autumn walked toward a stand which was giving out free chocolate Crêpe’s. Once she took a bite of the chocolate goodness and she was transported home.

On Thursday Autumn had gone into her chest and puts on the Sarafan. A light began to glow and she was in Russia.

In Russia Autumn is standing in the middle of the Red Square. The aroma of the food had drawn her to a sign which says piroshki c kopustoj (which is a parcel of cabbage and potatoes). On a plate there was a golden parcel and Autumn had to try it.

Once autumn took a bite out of the parcel she was transported back home but the taste still lingered as the little parcel was very delicious.

On Friday Autumn had put on the clogs that were in the chest. A light began to glow and she was in Holland. Autumn was very surprised about the adventure she had so far.

In Holland Autumn is standing in front of a windmill with flowers all around her. The sky is blue and the sun is shining but in the distance she can hear voices. Autumn decides to see where the sound is coming from.

There are Children with a cheese stand giving out free cheese. When autumn takes a bite of the cheese a light glows and she is transported home.

When Autumn had arrived home she could not believe the magical adventure she had. She was glad that her grandparents had given her a magical experience.

It is Autumns 5th Birthday party and she is really excited about the presents she will receive.

However she does not like change and wants everything in her party to be a princess theme.

What she doesn’t know is that her grandparents will give her a birthday present she will never forget.
