My Classroom Behavior Management System

I will use the green, yellow, and red card system in my classroom. All the students will start on green each day. If a child is misbehaving, I will give a verbal warning. If the behavior continues, I will move their card to yellow.

Once, they are on yellow, they will have the opportunity to move back to green if their behavior improves.

If I have to correct them again or see repeated behavior, I will give another warning and move their card to red if the actions continue. Once they are on red, they cannot move back up the behavior chart and a note will be sent home to the parents. After a student receives 3 red cards, I will call and set up a meeting with the parents to discuss a behavior plan that they can help reinforce.

Consequences:

If a child remains on green each day for the week, he or she may get a piece of candy out of the jar. If a student is on yellow, they will sit on the wall for 5 minutes during recess. If a child is on red, they will sit on the wall the entire recess. If the behavior occurs after lunch, they will spend this time on the wall the following day.

If any of the red behaviors are extreme, a visit to the Principal’s office may also occur.
