advice to you, my son, is

to fear God. Be His obedient

servant. Keep His thoughtalways fresh in your mind.

Be attached to and carefullyguard the principles which

connect you with Him

Be it known to you, my

son, that you are created forthe next world and not for

this. You are born to die andnot to live forever. Your stayin this world is transient. You

live in a place which issubject to decay and

destruction...

Subjugate your nature with

the vision of death, make itsee the mortality of life and

of all that it holds dear, forceit to realize the actuality of

misfortunes and adversities,the changes of

circumstances and times

and compel it to study

the lives of past people.Persuade it to see the

ruined cities, thedilapidated palaces,

decaying signs and relicsof the fallen empires of

past

you will find that each one

of those people has parted

company with the others

and with all that hecherished and loved and he

is now in a solitary abode,alone and unattended and

you also will be like him

Develop the habit of

patience againstsufferings, calamities andadversities. This virtue ofpatience is one of the

highest values of morality

and nobility of characterand it is the best habit

which one can develop

Take care to provide wellfor your future abode. Do

not barter away eternalblessing for pleasures of

this mortal and fleetingworld...

Do not talk about things

which you do not know. Donot speculate about and

pass verdicts on subjectsabout which you are not in

a position to form anopinion and are not called

upon to do so.

Let your words and deedsteach the world lessons ofhow to abstain from

wickedness and viciousdeeds. Try your best to

keep away from those whoindulge in vices and sins.

Fearlessly and boldly helptruth and justice. Bear

patiently the sufferingsand face bravely the

obstacles which come inyour way when you follow

truth and when you try touphold it. Adhere to thecause of truth and justice

our Holy Prophet (saws). Iadvise you to have faith inhis teachings, to make himyour leader and to accept

his guidance for your

salvation...

yourself, like for others, andwhatever you dislike to

happen to you, spare othersfrom such happenings. Donot oppress and tyrannize

anybody because you surelydo not like to be oppressed

and tyrannized

Remember, my dear son,that wealth and power are

such things that they willnot always be with you and

may bring harm to you inthe life in the Hereafter.

my dear son, alwayskeep three things in mind:death, your deeds and thelife in the Hereafter. In this

way you will always be

ready to face death and itwill not catch you unawares.

son, that you cannot haveevery wish of yours

granted

Take care, my son! Bewarned that you do notmake yourself a slave of

anybody. God has createdyou a freeman. Do not sell

away your freedom inreturn of anything.

avarice and greed may notdrive you towards

destruction and damnation.

Contentment and honesty

are the lasting assets toretain ones prestige and

position.

The losses that you sufferon account of your silence

can be easily compensated

but the losses which arise

out of excessive and loose

talk are difficult torecompense.

Wisdom is the name of thetrait of remembering

experiences and makinguse of them. The best

experience is the one which

gives the best warning andadvice.

Everyone who tries cannotsucceed. For every actionthere is a reaction. Shortly

you will get what has beendestined for you. Often

Know it well, son, that

there are two kinds oflivelihood: one which youare searching for and theother which follows you

(which has been destined

for you). It will reach youeven if you do not try to

obtain it.

strangers and often

strangers help you more

than your nearest relatives.

Poor is he who has nofriends.

Instead of enquiring aboutthe condition of the home

in which you are going tostay, first of all try to find

out what kind of peoplewill be your neighbours.

topics in your talk even ifyou have to repeat sayingsof others.

develop friendship with theenemy of your friend

otherwise your friend will turninto an enemy. Advise your

friend sincerely and to thebest of your ability eventhough he may not like it.
