This is my square unitMy square unit is a 12 in. by 12 in.

My first rectangular figure is my ottoman!

• I have 4 full square units and 2 halves.

• I have 2 rows and 2 and a half tiles in each row.

My Math:• Since it is 2 by 2 and a half, if I

multiply that, the answer is 5! When I saw the squares laid out, I got the same answer!

My Second Rectangular Shape is the Landing!

• I have 9 full square units and 3 half units. • I have 3 rows and 3 and a half squares in

each row.

My Math• Since it is 3 by 3 and a half, if I

multiply that, the answer is 10 and a half!

• When I saw the squares laid out, I got the same answer!

Comparing!If I compare the landing to the

ottoman, the landing is bigger. It is more than twice as big as the ottoman!
