Begin stitching the frame of Rhodes stitches using Thread #1. Lay the ribbonflat on both sides of the canvas. Stitch the completed frame.

Stitch the Waffle stitches located in the four corners of the design. Theseare done using two threads in each square. For the lime-green lines using Thread #9 and for the dark blue lines use the following threads: Thread #4in the top right corner, Thread #7 in the bottom right corner, Thread #5 inthe bottom left corner and Thread #6 in the top left corner.When stitching the Waffle stitch, make sure to complete the last stitch as

follows: come up at #27 and cross over all the stitches until you go understitch 21-22.

Measure 2" in from the top left side of your canvas and 2" in from the left side of your canvas. The meeting place hole in your canvas is the top left hole of your design. On your master chartyou will see this hole marked by .*

Stitch the Cushion stitches located on either side of the groupings of Wafflestitches you just completed. in the four corners of the design. These aredone using one ply of Thread# 1. On the Cushion stitches with brown linescrossing over them, use Thread #9 and follow the brown lines.

Between each cluster of the Cushion Stitches there is a column of stitchesdone in Basketweave. Stitch these using Thread #6. These columns taperoff in the center of the design.

Next you will stitch the large central Jessica. Use Thread #3 for the Jessica.Follow the diagram on the next page for the sequence of the Jessica.

On the Master Chart locate the long stitches going fromthe outer side of the Jessica in toward the center of thedesign. Use Thread #10 for the dark blue lines and Thread # 11 for the pink lines. Lay the threads as lay aspossible.

Inside the Jessica, going over the long stitches youplaced in the last step, lay the stitches that formboxes using Thread #8.

 Tack these boxes down in the center of each side following the teal colored

lines which go over the box sides. Use Thread #5. You can pierce thediagonal long stitches if they fall in your way.

Close-up of the teal colored tack stitchesPlace the grouping of 7 French Knots at the center of the design. Theseshould be done with 3 wraps.

 The beads in this design are placed on the canvas next to the Waffle stitches. The green circles represent the teal colored beads and the light pink coloredcircles represent the brown colored beads.

For the beads sitting between each of the Rhodes stitches along the outerframe, you will come up on one side of the Rhodes stitch, string five beadson your thread and go down into the canvas on the opposite side of theRhodes stitch. Do this around the entire frame following the circles on theMaster Chart.
