TRANSCRIPT
Media Studies is almost uniquely placed within the Curriculum. It sits at a crossroads encompassing the arts, social sciences and technology – a true renaissance subject. As such, students undertaking Media Studies are able to utilise subject skills from every other discipline studied; it is one of the few subjects with which students can actively engage within a “real world” context. The Media is the vehicle by which the human race intellectually navigates the world and, as a global phenomenon, the Media has become part of an ever-developing Global Culture and Global Language. It is not just a subject but a way in which we can learn about our world and about all other subjects. There is no aspect of school and of life in which a knowledge of Media is not a pre-requisite for success.
