My Ideology My music magazine will be aimed at 16-20 year olds, who enjoy listening to R&B music. My magazine will have elements of Hip-Hop to make it more diverse. The name of my magazine will be called Rhapsody as my magazine is based on R’n’B and I believe that the genre has an effusively enthusiastic expression of feeling and in relation to Hip-Hop which has a free instrumental composition in one extended movement, in this case the movement being my magazine. My magazine will follow the codes and conventions to an extent as I would like to give my magazine the elegance that I want to portray yet include the hardness and edge of Hip-Hop. My magazine will consist of some inspiration from the magazine called ‘Vibe’ as I prefer the constant, simple layout throughout the magazine. The unique selling points of my magazine will be to include tips on how to become a successful artist and a section to allow the audience to get their feelings across, this may attract certain types of people who want to know how to become successful in the music industry and allowing them the chance to tell us what they want in the magazine. I will keep the use of language in my magazine simple as my magazine will be aiming at 16-20year olds as most magazines that are aimed at teenagers have simple informal language, this is because most teenagers like to read text which is straightforward, simple and not so complex. Images will be classy and modern as I want my audience to connect with the images to see almost a physical form of what my magazine represents.
