SITE EXPLORATION
The Abandoned OwnershipIn terms of the re-lationship of own-ership and public area, the property of the object shifts between private and public accord-ing to people’s use. People’s re-use of the place or the thing creates new ownership of them.

A Public Birthday PartySince public area can has its private property, private events such as birthday party can be held in public too. The occupa-tion experiment about a public birthday party tex-ted people’s reac-tion to the space’s transferred func-tion, which turned out to be noticed widely and accept-ed warmly.

Reaction-Walking PostureThrough lining up and walk through the tunnel hand in hand, the “body wall” managed to block people’s way and force them to change their postures (bending, turning, etc.). On the oppo-site, this annoying behaviour did get positive feedback: people were will-ing to participate and get their own experience of the wall crossing.

DivisionWithout direct encounter, instal-lations can quietly lead people to ex-perience the space too. Within unfa-miliar additives to the area, like signs written by water on the ground, people are attracted to wonder about the real function of the signs. What does it mean to cross this line?

City RunGiven a video camera, Can peo-ple show their own cognition of the city? Which can be developed into a further ques-tion: Offered by material, what will people do to claim the city? Since the people videoing took over all the right to decide, it’s really their turn to claim the city and a chance for us to know about their point of view.
