Roots in sport & fitness

My passion for sport started with cricket. I played professional cricket at the school , college and university level.

I moved ahead into fitness and certified myself as a performance trainer in physical exercise.

Milestones

I began my efforts to integrate sports science and fitness by getting involved in specific sports programmes for kids at the Bhupathi Tennis Academy.

I then started an Academy for fitness education courses ,offering certification programmes for health & fitness professionals. With a faculty of sports science specialists , nutritionists ,bio-mechanic experts and certified master trainers.

Milestones

I moved to a health club venture where I was instrumental in planning, setting up and operating a state-of-the-art fitness club with customised programmes based on scientific modules.

I monitored a highly experienced team of head trainers , floor managers, personal trainers, general trainers , physiotherapists, nutritionists for clients including corporates , professional sports

persons, actors/models .

I have a dream

I am currently working on a unique sports model programme for school children ( 6-17 years)to be implemented during the physical education class and after school hours . The programme will focus on 5 athletics/sports disciplines.

A team of sports science specialists associated with the Netherlands Olympic Committee are helping me give concrete shape to my dream.

The bigger dream

My current project is part of a bigger dream – to take society out of the fire fighting mode with regard to sports , health and fitness and create a pro-active sports culture . For I believe that along with a focus on building world class sportspersons we should also galvanize a new generation of healthier, fitter citizens. Only then we can call ourselves a nation of winners.
