Genesis of my Life• CHAPTER ONE: MY BIRTH NARRATIVES• Mama Sofia Deiparine Dongallo and Papa Manuel Varron Dongallo are

my parents. Actually their parents doesn’t like their decision to get married because my grandparents are against to their love and they don’t like to let their son or daughter be happy when they are together in the name of love.

• I am Marife Dongallo, the fruit of love of my parents,• I was born on August 4, 1992, 9:20 AM in our farm at Naming, Tugbok,

Davao City.• Before my birth, pinaglihi ng mama Sofia ng prutas na rambutan. And

she ate ¼ sack of rambutan, kung baga iyon ang dahilan kung bakit palagi basa ang aking mga palad at naging paborito ko ngayon ang rambutan.

• My mother has a heart disease during my birth. She always go to the doctor for a checkup and I really pity her because she has to care for me and she really needs to take care for herself too. I am really afraid that she will come to an end because of the pressured and problems we had.

• We lived in a squatter area located in Sasa 13, Davao City and sometimes we came to live with the houses of my aunts, uncles, and lola.

• CHAPTER 2: MY CHILDHOOD LIFE•• I experience the difficulty in life with my mother in a squatter area. We

eat a small amount of food like noodles, pancit and lugaw.• Early in the morning, she cooks a “binignit” and sell it to our

neighbors when she came home, she always bring me a “pasalubong” as my reward for staying at home.

• Sometimes if I had a chance with my mama Sofia, I enjoyed to get out from our house, playing games with my friends.

• Sometimes, when I joined Mama Sofia in selling “binignit” in our place, I feel happy because she is very proud to introduce me to her friends and suki.

• During in my childhood in the farm, I experienced to be with nature by simply enjoying the environment for it’s beauty and blessings.

• I also experienced to have a bonding with my Papa Manuel, Mama Sofia, Kuya Peter and I; complete family bonding, washing together our clothes with the “bumba”, that’s the most unforgettable bonding we have in our united family in our whole life through.

• Chapter 3: MY BAPTISM• I received the sacrament of baptism when I was admitted in SOS

Village, Davao City due to poverty problems at the age of seven.

Page 5: My Living Bible

My Exodus• Journeying my adventurous life, I experience being

separated from my parents at the age of four because of poverty and due to my mother having a difficulty to send me to a school.

• My mother admitted in various centers and agencies namely, a Christian community (I don’t know where it is located), Balay Dagupan in SIR Matina, Center in Cabantian, DSWD in Regional and at the age of 7, I finally admitted in “Save Our Souls” SOS Children’s Village Bajada Davao City.

• In the different centers and agencies that I was admitted, I experience new adjustments on my surroundings. I met different kinds of people. I experience different lifestyles and activities done in a center or agency, I also experience to friendly with others, to be good to everyone. I learn things through my personal experiences.

Page 6: My Living Bible

• At the very young age, I was permanently admitted in “SOS Village”. I was assigned to be a member of a family in a House Amparo “House of Our Lady of Protection.”

• I really feel the warm welcome they gave me during my 1st step in our house together with my mama Sofia.

• As time passes, I feel that I am alone, I’m hopeless, I feel unworthy and I feel that I’m nothing.

• But every time my Mama Sofia and Kuya Peter tried so hard to find time to visit me, I always feel that I need to be strong and firm in facing the challenges and sacrifices we had in our lives, I feel determined in my studies, I feel comforted and I really feel that I am not alone.

• Every time they visit me, they don’t forget to bring me “pasalubong” and I really treasure the moments and time we shared, I treasure the bonding we had as a united family even if we only meet during my birthdays (that is in August 4), Christmas Eve, and during summer, April 2 or what we call as a three visits a year.

Page 7: My Living Bible

• Adapting my environment here in my SOS family. I experience differently. I feel that there is no proper communication because we are not all open to share our feelings, insights and perceptions and beliefs because we are afraid to our mother because she is really strict to all of us, and she is the only one that is needed to be followed.

• I experience the unfair treatment we had in our family. • Because my SOS mother is ill-treating us comparing to the twin;

namely, Rene and Ramy Montron.• I also experience a problem that is really hard to solve, the

increasing of our pride as brothers and sisters, misunderstanding, backfighting and war.

• During my elementary I experience being well disciplined by my SOS mother because I’m always afraid to climb a tree without watching or asking to my neighbors where she is.

• I also experience to discipline and train my own self on how to become a responsible daughter of a house and to have a proper time management.

• During my high school life I experience to talk against my mother because of my strong desire to let “Mama Inday” our SOS mother to be that every time she yells at me, I always feel being hurt. Sometimes we misunderstood each other then hand a cold peaceful war by not talking to each other and having no communication at all.

Page 8: My Living Bible

• After entering college, I experienced being having pressured at home, in school and in our village.

• I feel so weak and I always look down at myself that college is really difficult for me that is really heard to reach.

• Sometimes my mama Inday and I have misunderstood with each other one place I usually visit is our farm last summer.

• I enjoyed getting to know my cousins, aunts, uncles and relatives for the first time. I also visit a recollection place every year for me to find time to be with God.

• Sometimes I visit malls to enjoy and relax myself.• And sometimes I find hard time to visit my friends.

I will be Here• Tomorrow mornin’ if you wake up

And the sun does not appearI… I will be hereIf in the dark we lose sight of loveHold my hand and have no fear‘Cause I… I will be hereI will be hereWhen you feel like bein’ quietWhen you need to speak your mindI will listen

• And I will be hereWhen the laughter turns to cryin’Through the winnin’ and losin’ and tryin’We’ll be together‘Cause I will be here

• Tomorrow mornin’ if you wake upAnd the future is unclearI… I’ll be hereJust as sure as seasons are made for changeOur lifetimes are made for yearsI… I will be here

• I will be hereYou can cry on my shoulderWhen the mirror tells us we’re olderI will hold you

• And I will be hereTo watch you grow in beautyAnd tell you all the things you are to meI will be here

• I will be trueTo the promise I have madeTo you and to theOne who gave you to me

• I… I will be here• And just as sure as seasons are made

for changeOur lifetimes are made for years‘Cause I…I will be here….We’ll be together, forever

• ‘Cause I will be hereI will be here

You belong with me• You're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset

She's going off about something that you said'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do

I'm in the room, it's a typical Tuesday nightI'm listening to the kind of music she doesn't likeAnd she'll never know your story like I do

But she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirtsShe's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachersDreaming about the day when you wake up and findThat what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one who understands youBeen here all along, so why can't you see? You, you belong with me, you belong with me

Walking the streets with you and your worn-out jeansI can't help thinking this is how it ought to beLaughing on a park bench, thinking to myselfHey, isn't this easy?

And you've got a smile that could light up this whole townI haven't seen it in a while since she brought you downYou say you're fine, I know you better than thatHey, what ya doing with a girl like that?

• She wears high heels, I wear sneakersShe's Cheer Captain and I'm on the bleachersDreaming about the day when you wake up and findThat what you're looking for has been here the whole time

If you could see that I'm the one who understands youBeen here all along, so why can't you see?You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your back doorAll this time how could you not know?Baby, you belong with me, you belong with me

Oh, I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the nightI'm the one who makes you laugh when you know you're 'bout to cryAnd I know your favorite songs and you tell me 'bout your dreamsThink I know where you belong, think I know it's with me

Can't you see that I'm the one who understands you?Been here all along, so why can't you see?You belong with me

Standing by and waiting at your back doorAll this time, how could you not know?Baby, you belong with me, you belong with me

You belong with meHave you ever thought just maybeYou belong with me?You belong with me

• A good man in an evil society seems the greatest villain of all.

• A good surgeon has an eagle's eye, a lion's heart, and a lady's hand.

• A guilty conscience needs no accuser. • A half truth is a whole lie. • A jack of all trades is master of none. • A kingdom is lost for want of a shoe (OR
