It works in all waters, including fresh water, brackish water, sea- water, and saturated salt water. It may be used in most mud systems, including lime, gyp, lignosulfonate, polymer, non-dispersed, potassium and others. Normal treatments range from 4 to 8 lb/bbl (11.4 to 22.8 kg/m 3 ), depending on the make-up-water chemistry and desired fluid loss. A minimum con- centration of MY -LO-JEL is required before a significant reduction in fluid loss will be observed. Unless the system has a base of saturated salt water or has a very high pH, a biocide will be necessary to prevent bacterial degradation.
