MAGAZINE FRONT COVER

Some magazines are very bright, the colours used are very sharp

and some covers are very dull, and there is a reason for the selection

of colors. There are different layouts to a fashion magazine front

cover, for eg winter , fall, jewellery etc. but all these are included in the

genre ‘fashion’.

FOR EXAMPLE: This magazine’s front cover is very

bright. The text ‘sunshine’ is in yellow

color and highlights the fact that it is a

summer magazine. The target audience

for this mag is girls from 17 to 25

years.

The main text is in pink color which

enhances the girly effect and is written

in in center for attention.

WINTER EDITION

• The colors used are not very lively or

bright.

• As her dress is in black color so the

background is white.

• Her jacket and hair were light so to

maintain the color balance they have

changed the color of their logo to red.

• In this layout of front cover small

summeries of contents-written.

• Red color used so that logo-not

awkward.

This is another example of a fashion magazine

cover layout.

• The summaries of contents are written on

this front cover however the main words are

written in capital and bold letters.

• In this cover of harpers bazaar magazine no

summaries are written which differentiates it

from other covers.

• Only the name of main article in magazine is

written in capital letters , to attract audience.

CONTENTS:

There are many different types of layouts to a content page.

Every fashion magazine has there own style.

It also depends on the genre if it’s a gossip girl magazine then they

usually attach pictures with the content list to make it look more girly.

EXAMPLE:

• In this layout they have written the

main article’s page number in

bold numbers.

• Pictures are also used to enhance

there effect otherwise text will

look really simple.

• The contents other then main

ones are written in a simple list.

The content list is simple in

this example.

The main article in this

magazine is the interview of

beyonce so her picture is

attached with the page number.

This content page is very

simple. No pictures are

used ,only page numbers

are written in bold.

• The headings are written in

red bold letters. And the

page number size is also

bigger then the font size.

• A picture is included to

keep interest of people.

• The word “passion” is also

written in big letters to

highlight it.

I have explained 4 types of magazine covers and 4

types of content page layouts. All of these examples

were under the genre “fashion” but every layout was

different from other.
