The mission of My Story, My Life is to provide a unique gift to persons experiencing memory loss and their loved ones.

Participants will be interviewed and asked questions about their lives. Afterward, they will be given the digital version of the stories they have shared.

As Alzheimer’s and dementia begin to show their effects, older adults’ memories begin to be less accessible and dependable. “My Story, My Life” is designed to capture those memories, store them in digital form, and return them as a gift to the individuals and their families.

Caregivers of the individuals being interviewed will have some degree of temporary respite, access to Social Connections Groups, and be introduced to potential places of future respite, should it be needed.

While individuals experiencing memory loss are with the interviewers, the caregiver can choose to use this respite time as they wish.

Social Connections Groups will be available to the Caregivers, with an offer to accompany or assist with their assimilation into new groups.

The location at which the interviews are conducted may become a potential place for additional respite, if appropriate.

As life stories are recorded, the history and experiences are preserved for all time.

Communities with rich personal and historical archives have numerous benefits and leave a lasting record of a specific place and time.

Wisdom and experience are shared with future generations, in a form easily accessible to even the youngest members of society.
