Ragged Island
Ragged Island is a wild life maintenance area across the James River Bridge that many people go all year around to fish and hunt. This year the Booker T. 6th grade team of the blue crabs visited it throughout the year to collect information and study it.

Job
The My World group job it to walk the perimeter the island with a GLX system (shown on the next slide) and collect information with a GPS and a weather sensor. This information is used to make all the maps for the different groups you see today.

GLX SystemThe GLX is a data collector we use to
collect information about the Ragged island. On a GLX you can hook up different data collectors like a weather sensor that collects data like temperature and humidity. We used the weather sensor at Ragged Island, we also used a GPS system you hook up the GLX that records latitude, longitude and speed. We used the latitude and longitude line to make the map that you see today.

The map
To make the maps you see today took a lot of work. We had to walk about a mile and a half around Ragged Island collecting data with our GLX. We then saved it onto a memory stick and hooked it up into the computer where it copied all the information. This information is used to make the map.
