    Greetings dear MyPSA members,

    First and foremost, thanks to the MyPSAPublication Committee for giving me the oppor-tunity to pen my thoughts in this exclusive issue of MyPSA News-letter. It such a great honor for me and really appreciated from

    bottom of my heart.Congratulations to all MyPSA members especially the excos,

    presidents and contact persons from all the pharmacy school inMalaysia for making MyPSA as the leading healthcare studentassociation in Malaysia committed in promoting public health anddeveloping future Malaysian and worldwide healthcare leaders.A great leadership has been shown from generation to generation.Previous generations have already sacrificed their sweats, tearsand pain in upholding the MyPSA stature! Not to mention, millions

    of gratitude to the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society for giving usthe chance and trust to stand by our own foot and soul by guidingthe path to success.

    Indeed, a transformation must be made in order to advanceand strengthening the MyPSA stability and achievement.     From 29 to 30 January 2011, National Pharmaceutical Sports Carnival (NPSC) was held in University Sains Mlaysia (USM). This time, this annual sporting event involved 9 universities all over Malaysia. New changes ha

    been made where the organizer introduced traditional games. The champion was International Islamic UniversMalaysia (IIUM) with 4 gold medals and 6 silver medals. This sport carnival accomplished its objective to nurtuhealthy and dynamic future pharmacists as it provided memorable experience to the players. Congratulations

    all players, supporters and also to USM ,the host of the event.

    NHPCE

    National Halal Pharmaceutical Convention and Exhibition (NHPCE) was organized by IIUM Pharmacy Stu-dents Association (IPHA) on 2nd and 3rd October 2010. This mega event with the theme serving halal producfor community had involved 180 participants from all over the country. This event is an opportunity to buildawareness among the new generation of pharmacists, for them to know how challenging it is to produce halapharmaceutical products and also among consumers to choose the best halal medicinal products for their

    health.

    These are the lists of program that were highlighted during this large event: Exhibitions from several pharmaceutical companies followed by a book review. 3 paperwork presentations by Dr. Danial Zainal Abidin which emphasized Basic Principles of

    Fiqh in Pharmacy, Dr. Azizi bin Ayob on halal pharmaceutical guidelines in manufacturingand current practice in Malaysia; the myth behind the reality! and Prof. Dr. Zhari Ismail onImplementation of Fiqh Pharmacy towards serving halal products for the community.

    Forum with 3 panelists, which were Dr. Roziatul, Dr. Danial and Dr. Mohamad Ibrahim Nordin.

    Student Exchange Program (SEP)

    The Student Exchange Program (SEP) is a program thaenables pharmacy students from all over thworld to know how other parts of the worlpractice pharmacy hosted under thInternational Pharmaceutical StudentFederation (IPSF). It is stated that annualthere are about 50 associations that takpart in this program and over 500 international exchanges take place. The Malaysia

    association that takes part in SEP is the Malaysian Pharmacy Student Associatio(MyPSA) and this year would be the third time for MyPSA to joithis exciting program.

    Last year from December 25th to January 17th, a studenfrom UK has been hosted by UiTM and UM. The student stayed iPenang, UiTM Puncak Alam, UM and had her attachment at thUMMC for two weeks.

    This July UiTM would be hosting three students fromCanada, Hungary and Indonesia. They will all be staying at UiTM

    Puncak Alam and will be entertained with interesting activities lik

    hospital visitation, homestay and trip to KL to expose them to th

    vibrant culture of Malaysia.
